Sakho contract renewal until 2020... Rodgers has obviously told him something for him to commit

Hopefully he starts this Sunday!

His changed his tune, considering we were hawking him around europe in the summer.

Luckily it's a good group to draw so I'm confident we will. We should really be easing through a group like that though

No question we should.

But all things being equal, the chances are we won't putting out teams like that. Even at Anfield where he has a pretty darn poor record (love it when he talks about 'fortress Anfield' ..... ); you're running a serious risk of getting beat with such an inexperienced side. ****, the bench had players who aren't even fringe players! One of whom came on. They're players we're likely never going to see have much of any career here.

We got away with it in Bordeaux. (And no question as a stand alone result it would be a good one. But had we put out a full strength team as we should of, got the three points against a weak side, coupled with Kazan's surprise result we'd be sitting a whole lot prettier right now.). Whether we continue to get away with it going forward is another question again.

And reading him say he was massively encouraged by the performance of the youngsters and it bodes well for the rest of the group just reaffirms he's not treating it seriously at all and will continue to be well understrength.

I really do not understand the clubs attitude toward the Europa at all. (Not just ourselves, all English clubs.). And I understand the managers less so being the immense pressure he's under and his desperate need to learn how to play and win in Europe.

FYI apparentely Henderson picked up a metatarsal injury in training yesterday and will be out for about 6 to 8 weeks.

I was watching beIN Sports and they're reporting it on their. A reporter from The Telegraph (I think) broke the story.

Thank you.

Outside The Telegraph Bascombe piece, not seeing anything more than what DJ said above that he's back in training and under consideration for Sunday but thank you regardless.

He's right, Hendo is out with a broken foot.

EDIT: A broken bone IN his foot. Metatarsal

Tony Barrett confirming it now.

Ta. Bascombe get's something right for once huh? (In joke as he was a terrible local reporter before he joined a National.).

The last thing Rodgers needed. Glad it's not the 5th metatarsal on the outside, ala Beckham. Did that myself earlier this year and it's a ***** to heal. 3 month standard.

Now I genuinely fear a poor result against Norwich and Sturridge with an injury setback after a few minutes on the pitch. Yes, I have no optimism left.

Hendo out for a few months. Another excuse for BR to use I guess.

MASSIVE week and a half for Rodgers.

Four successive home games. Norwich, Carlisle, Villa then Sion. And a 5th game in Liverpool with the Derby to follow

All four should be home victories. But then so should West Ham (the worst home performance I can honestly ever remember. No word of a lie), and his home record is terrible.

As I type I honestly wouldn't put my money on any of the 4 being wins with 100% certainty. If he put that side out in Bordeaux, just WTF is he going to put out Wednesday against Carlisle? And they'll be well up for it backed by nearly 6K. Sion could go either way with the way he's treating the Europa again. And West Ham have laid the blueprint for Norwich and Villa.

And I pray we aren't rushing Daniel back too soon out of desperation.

The general consensus from everyone this week was he'll get through Christmas. (I'd say we had around 500 in Bordeaux. Which is funny considering we sold the full 2 and half. People obviously aren't aware the club have said travel documents from earlier rounds will be required for any knock-out tickets along with the game credits.). I personally aren't so sure and could well see FSG reacting if the start rolls into a similar slump like the end of last year. (Also funny to note that the only people that seem to buy into the weakened side/ Europa doesn't matter B/S are the media and fans watching on TV. Virtually nobody that travels is ever of that opinion and wants to see the strongest possible side/ first team and the club really going for the competition.).

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say this is one of the most important week and a halves in his time at Anfield.

Come out of it with two league wins, still in the league cup and sitting atop the Europa group and the pressure lifts.

Continue the absolute disgrace from the previous two league games, and be left in a mess in the cups; and he'll be on his very last legs.

Hoping for the best. Fearing the worst.

BTW, there was a brilliant thing on Carraghers facey page this week that he now must of taken down as I can no longer find it.

A pic of him, Stevie, Robbie and Owen with the 2001 UEFA Cup saying (paraphrasing) '3 Scousers and a wool. Another European away season starts.' XD.
