Klopp will turn around the idiotic mindset of not taking on the Europa League.

You've got a better chance of CL through there than top 4. and he loves a cup competition.

That's spot on. It makes even more sense when you think there might not even be a top 4 but a top 3!

Him winning it actually then increases the chances of a top 4 staying that way too. In a bizarre way its in rivals' interest for you to do well and win in Europe. I like what he brings, hope it makes the league less complacent. Embarrassed with our recent european work tbh.

As a Liverpool fan, got to admit, couldn't be happier!

After the lack luster performances, lack of soul at Anfield, on pitch performances being pathetic more often than not, Rodgers still trying to grasp the essence what he wanted with the team- top 4, title, top 6, Europe! no one knew, and it showed..
a catalyst this one, for sure.. at least Klopp here will bring some energy, vision, dedication, and so on..

PS- in that pic with Ayre, Klopp looks thinner, as in not a positive weight loss? or may be its that beard that made him more attractive?

Be it the top 3 or top 4 that qualifies for the Champions League going forward, FSG have laid down their first serious marker of intent that they want to be involved and the club back to where it belongs. Contending on all fronts.

Klopp: “I believe in a philosophy that is very emotional, very fast and very strong. My teams must play at full throttle.”

“I am very excited by the challenge we face and eager to start the job.”

"A message for the Liverpool fans? We must change from doubters, to believers.. Now"

Talk is (very cheap) with FSG. Great at the market spiel, not so much on delivery. Need to stop telling Liverpool fans what they want to hear and actually deliver it.

Brenda getting the sack on Sunday was much more alarming than us ridiculously shipping in 3 to the ****. Precisely because of the expected KLOPP appointment. Cos I think he's exactly the manager to make them a serious contender again.

Plus above all the guy is SO DIFFICULT TO HATE/LAUGH AT ....:'(

Getting the manager is a long way from delivering the ability to compete on all fronts. He has plenty of work to do.

No ****. But we're in a **** of a lot better position right now than we were this time last week. He'll get a heck of a lot more out of the current side than we've seen to date.

And going forward, if Boston weren't changing and handing him full control over the football side he wouldn't be here.

They arent changing. Klopp has never gone near transfers. The only player he has ever had a direct influence in bring in is Neven Subotic. They've already come out and said they are not changing the committee structure because they feel it was working and that me make up of the squad is good enough (really?!)

The one change is Klopp get's final say on transfers - That has been confirmed by quite a few (Barrett, Joyce, Bascombe etc)

It will hopefully stop the mis-mash of Rodgers/Committee signings and then it is simply a system that happens at most clubs

I'll leave this by saying to me, anyone honestly thinking he does't have a FAR bigger influence on transfers and the final say on acquisitions with the scout he's brought over with him than Rodgers ever did is excessively naive.

But regardless, we relish the challenge. The top 5 clubs should have a heck of a battle going forward.

Indeed (pretty much standard for him at Dortmund). It's explictly not the same as him getting involved in the transfers however, he has never wanted that. So methodology of identifying targets is exactly the same as it was before

This is how it worked at Dortmund: Officially, Klopp, Zorc and Watzke had one vote and decisions needed to be unanimous but Klopp was the most important factor. Zorc was vital as he coordinated all the interests and needs of everyone. He got the budgets from Watzke, the scouting results from Mislintat and the presets from the manager.
