Saw a poll for who will win next year. Man United apparently!

So happy for Leicester though, it's a win for football :D
 
Just watching the Leicester player's celebrate at Vardy's and singing 'Champione, Champione ..... ' (Personal aside. I'd give them a week to fix that and drop the 'h' to what it always was when it was brought back from Italian/ Spanish European trips rather than this PL cHampione **** that's sprung up and is now sadly the norm. Or else I'mma taking the title off yers for being a bunch of beuts!).

Thinking I'm probably the only one that remember's singing 'Campione, Campione, Campione Liv-er-pool!'

Thinking I'm getting old.

Thinking it's been WAY too long since that was a regular part of our song book.

Thinking this REALLY needs to change and fast!

Start as we mean to go on and scare the living **** out of Villarreal in the cauldron that is Anfield on a special European night!
 
As we build up to yet another European semi, takes you back to 11 years ago today and lil' Louis' 'ghost goal' that has had Mourinho hating us ever since. :D. Made even better by the fact we knew it never crossed the line in the ground haha. But nobody ever asks him, when he narks about it as he has most every year since, which he'd rather of had? A goal down to one that ultimately never really was with 86 minutes to come back with 11 men? Or, as the referee has since confirmed, be down to 10 men, with Cech sent off for the foul on Baros, be facing a penalty, and looking at 84 minutes with a man short, chasing the game, with Hilarious in nets?

Hairs on the back of your neck still stand on end when you think of the atmosphere that night.

Need to make the ol' place the same again on Thursday.
 
There's been a lot of excellent things written the past week or so since the verdict. I've not posted them as, well, you're acutely conscious of reactions the past 3 decades when enough mud is thrown about you, but I'll leave this here:


Excellent BBC Radio programme fronted by Kenny's daughter from last Wednesday evening. A hard listen. But if anyone wants to know just how trauma like that changes you and consequently what the last 27 years have been like to deal with, and just how different football was back then; then this just speaks clearly to anything I could tell you and says everything I find so hard to :

When I watch this I always re-enact what I did. Lower centenary with my dad (yeah, remember when he used to take me?). He was celebrating and I was like wait, wait, has he give it dad? Then the when the ref gave it... madness. Absolute mental for a 12 year old like myself!!

*Smiles. The best part for me was that we were left hand side the goal looking on the pitch, about row 25 or so. So we where more or less looking across the line from behind the goal and could see it wasn't (or at least it looked real dubious) a goal and hadn't crossed the line. Just made it all the sweeter against them!

God, when Gudjohnson hit that cross shot just wide deep in injury time that Carra contourts his body to get out the way after he'd been scoring for fun that season ..... Time just seemed to stand still as everyone's breath stopped ..... The inches that define things. Good Lord.

Let's have another one please Red Men Thursday!

Another one Thursday. Maybe not as tense as I've only just got my heart rate back down to normal after the Dortmund game!!

Spot on with the european football mate. You can't describe the feeling you get for a european night at Anfield.
 
Watching the press conference I can't think of a better coach to be in charge of Liverpool. We really hit the jackpot there.
 
I think this is about the most relaxed I've ever been the night prior to a European semi.

Excited, but honestly not worried at all.

Anfield. Under the lights. In Europe. Where dreams become reality.

Savour it Villarreal. You might never experience anything like it again.
