Not surprising at all tbh.

Don't understand why Lallana didn't start. Previous games have shown we play better with him in the team.

I'm praying for the day Rodgers stops playing Stevie in defensive mid it's quite obvious he struggles in that position.

Problem for Rodgers, is he spent most of last season saying Stevie G can play there. The same way he said Balotelli can contribute a lot to the club and just needs a run of games to show what he can do. His post-patch interview seemed extremely poor.

More and more I believe LFC's most effective midfield may be a diamond, with Coutinho at the tip, Can at the base and Henderson and Allen doing the running/maintaining possession for the front four to do the damage they can.
 
Liverpool were so poor in the final third and that's the worst performance from Sterling. Nothing worked for him, even a simple touch or dribble.
 
i think it's sad to see that we spent 120M on players and none of them seem to make any brilliant permorfances so far...I knew replacing suarez wasn't easy, but that's why we spent so much on so many players i guess....so the total good performance could make the difference...i read somewhere that balotelli didn't even once touched the ball inside the box with basel...and the rest transfers are playing really bad so far...

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling, Lambert.

Substitutes: Jones, Toure, Johnson, Lucas, Markovic, Borini, Balotelli.
 
Second match that lallana looks excellent. I think he is beginning to pick up his game.
 
First we draw to a wonder goal, now drawing to a penalty that should have been a freekick. ffs
 
I really like seeing Gerrard in the attacking position again.
 
Finally a win, was tough, no way should have been a penalty but glad we pushed on and hendo stepped up to slot it home. Really liked when Gerrard moved out of that defensive roll to more of attacking one. Good to get 3 points.
 
Just like has been previously mentioned Stevie in a more attacking position is a joy to watch again. Would love to see Allen, Can or Lucas play the deeper role and Gerrard push further forward

Lallana is looking very good as his fitness increases and Henderson as usual was outstanding today.

I was literally just about to say the same the re Gerrard. He looked like he linked up well with Balo when he came on. Would be great to see him getting some more goals.
 
Today we where a bit nervous again and its only natural for the start we have this year. But for a 5 min period around the 65th minute we produced the magic that we had at the end of the previous year. I am sure that if we can gain our confidence back things will look a lot better.
