bt have the worse pundits i can ever remember any one ever haven. paul scholes is ok but is sooooo boring, david james is a prat, owen hargreves is even worse and nothing needs to be said about micheal owen dreading haven to watch champions league on bt next year

But I'd like to add that I hope we're done with the shopping sprees for a while now. We do need experience in the side, especially if players like Lucas and Skrtel are leaving (though I doubt Skrtel is going anywhere any time soon). So in the summer, I'm hoping we focus our attention on 2-3 top players and 1-2 talents, instead of 7-8 young talents and no top players. If we do that, I think we could have some very good years ahead.

This is exactly what I had in mind. If every year we buy every promising 19 year old player we find available in the market we will never get ourselves anywhere. Obviously we can not expect from every player we bought to make great season(first and foremost because they are new and need time to adjust themselves and secondly because they did not have any great season before joining the club) but again if we go next summer and do the exact same thing as last summer is an endless circle without as i see it any great future possibilities of improvements. The disadvantage we have is that obviously we lack of present glory and therefore players will prefer other teams. The competition is higher than ever so we should really move fast and identify good players and sign them at 22-25 before others find them. However I doubt if we are able to keep our best players in the club without actually getting constanly in champions league and claiming the league. Most players(NOT all e.g Gerrard, Toti) are ambitious and play for glory or money if we cannot offer them that they will choose someone who can.

Rodgers has already stated that the future for Can is in midfield. He just didn't want to disrupt the balance by moving him there as soon as Lucas got injured, which was why I thought Allen would play there. But instead he chose a Gerrard-Henderson duo. It didn't work too well I think, considering how easy it was for Spurs at times to play one-twos beyond them. Especially when Henderson was pushing forward, our defence was exposed. This is probably why Can was moved up alongside Henderson when Gerrard was subbed. Strange though, how Allen didn't get a chance after a decent game against Everton.

I disagree at the moment. His future may lie there but for the moment we have improved significantly defensively and it would be foolish to disrupt that

this forum has had it's fair share of bellends since I've been here, Scott, jumps out to me. I don't visit here nowadays, simply because the quality of post has declined somewhat, and there's so much spam and adverts. But the main reason is that almost every thread is just full of trolling ever since there's been a dedicated thread for the 'big teams'.

Do yourself a favour buddy, go outside, meet a girl, have a smoke. Sew your oats.

Amen to that! Never knew one could judge the entire trajectory of someone's life based on a few posts they made on a random football forum during school. Revolutionary stuff
