Apparently a quote from Gordon Taylor on the PFA looking into Suarez contract:

Professional Footballers' Association chief Gordon Taylor says Luis Suarez's contract does NOT require Liverpool to sell him if they receive a bid of £40m. Gordon Taylor:

"It does not say the club has to sell. It quite clearly states £40million is a minimum offer for discussions."

Suarez yesterday said: "We have the written contract, and we are happy to take this to the Premier League."

Look... I'm no fan of Suarez here but I think he has the right to vent his frustration the way I am seeing it. He stayed on last season under the agreement that he could leave the next if Liverpool didn't qualify for the Champions League (promises were stupidly made). As this didn't happen.. I think Liverpool have themselves to blame here with everything I understand of this situation Suarez has the right to talk to other clubs but Liverpool have broke their promise.

No one is stopping him from talking to clubs, the club has even said he can talk to Arsenal. They just wont be forced into selling him at a price they don't want to.

There's a difference between venting frustration and being a complete **** about things, Suarez is clearly doing the second. On the topic of promises, he said he'd still be here even without champions league football so that is complete ****.

As an Arsenal fan I do sympathize with you guys. I mean we did just go through the same exact thing last year. As for the "I hope Arsenal don't make the group stages this year" we already made it farther then you guys so its a step in the right direction for him.

If you believe Suarez that is... he also claims there was a minimum fee release clause in his contract which we now know is not true

Also if we genuinely did make that promise why would Suarez come out in April when he basically knew Liverpool would have no Champions League football and state 'i am staying at this club even if we don't qualify for the UCL'

Arsenal are adament they will not up their offer, Liverpool are not selling for that amount.. Either one side gives in, Real Madrid comes in or Suarez stays weather he likes it or not ( Last option now VERY unlikely )

Its the biggest move in his career and in many Liverpool fans eye's he is not making a massive step up

No offence to Arsenal but go to a huge club who are challenging on a regular basis or be patient until that club comes in.. Arsenal are not that club

Where have you seen that Arsenal are adamant they will not up their offer? All I heard was we are waiting to see what happens between Liverpool and Suarez?

This is all just rumors from social media... I cant see Arsenal upping by much if they do

Liverpool want upwards of £50million if they were to sell to a division rival

I understand that, but I think Liverpool's main intention is to keep him, that's where the promise is broken. But this is just my outside view of the situation, we all know he's a **** and the lark but a promise is a promise.

The only other 'big' club who have need and have shown interest are Madrid, and they seem set on Bale. Barca have signed Neymar, Juventus have Llorente and Tevez, PSG Cavani, Monaco Falcao, Chelsea are chasing Rooney. Why go for Suarez over any of the previous players with all his baggage, when now his seemingly only fans in world football see him for the colossal ***** that he clearly is. There's no other strikers close to his level currently available for Arsenal, to my mind, and there's no where else for Suarez to go. And for all Liverpool fans try to deny it, despite how Arsenal have fallen, Liverpool have fallen much further, and are nowhere to closing that gap.

Not sure about why he said that in April. But I still think Liverpool seem adamant not to sell him at all, rather than selling him for the right price to what we know of up to this point the only concrete interested club which is Arsenal. The offer they made in my view was pretty significant just over £40m is a great offer for a player who carries that kind of package with him, regardless of his abilities on the actual pitch.

we dont know this promise even existed and it is his fault no top sides are in for him... if he wasn't so controversial last season he would have most the world's elite at least interested

You also believed that he didn't want to move to another English team due to the media a couple weeks back, you also believed that the interest from Arsenal wasn't that strong a few weeks back.

I believe we will go up to 45m for him. After that I doubt it but I really don't think it will take more than 45m to get him no matter what Rodgers says.

I said in a reply also Suarez has himself to blame for the lack of interest from bigger clubs... If it wasn't for his 'baggage' alot more clubs would be interested

There is no denying Liverpool have fallen further.. but its now a case of lets join a side who have fallen less.... If he wants to join Arsenal to just qualify for the Champions League thats up to him, if he wants to actually challenge for titles he would be best to wait for a bigger clubs interest

This all relies on Liverpool actually selling to Arsenal though

I believed Arsenal's interest was serious, just never thought they would pay what is required..... Suarez wanting to leave because of the media is another thing he lied about though

Personally cant see him going for anything less than £50mil but nothing will surprise me when it comes to Suarez

A bigger club who might never come? He's entering his prime, it's now or never.

United would never touch him with a bargepole, City have Jovetic, Negredo, Aguero who are all have many years ahead of them. Chelsea? I can't see them ever being interested. In Italy, the majority of clubs' finances are crumbling, Juventus are the only club who could offer what he wants, and they're well stocked for the next few years at least. In France, PSG and Monaco are the only clubs attractive enough, and they have the financial might to have their pick of the world's best young players. Madrid are the only possibility left, and they've already invested/investing in young attacking talent with Isco and Bale. Sure something could change in the future and he could move to one of the world's best, but, more likely, he ends up missing his chance and challenging for the Europa league for the near future.

That's fine then.. i'm sure he'll be happy moving to Arsenal before he suddenly realises he isn't actually challenging for anything and decides to try and force another move

Liverpool are certainly closer to Arsenal, than Arsenal are to challenging for trophies

Well then, that'd be Arsenal's problem, not Liverpool's.

It's still a step up, whatever spin you want to put on it, and the last one available to him.

Yes it is a step up, even if its a small one

I also dont think it is the last one available to him yet... Spanish newspapers/journalist and BT Sports on air tonight reported Madrid are likely to contact Liverpool over Suarez

Just all depends on the Bale deal and how stubborn Levy is regarding that deal

Just a question.. where do you think he'll end up?
