Quite impressed with Toure in the air, look at least a little more dangerous from set pieces

Benteke is a completely different challenge though
 
I think we need to give Agbonlahor equal attention, could really hurt us with his pace if we get caught on the counter.

Completely agree. The forward three of Benteke, Agbonlahor and Weimann are no doubt the strongest part of the side

Gabby and Benteke embarrassed our defence at Anfield last season, very interesting to see what happens today.
 
Decent goal from Sturridge there. If he keeps this up he should be in the next England squad ahead of Lambert. All though I wouldn't be surprised if Lambert got the call up ahead of him.
 
If Liverpool can shut down Benteke and Gabby, I cant see Villa getting anything from the game. Weimann is a good player but without those two on form and giving any sort of supply it's hard to see Weimann making an impact.
 
Very good half, last 5 minutes looked abit shaky as Villa became more adventurous but overall solid and dominant

Still a dangerous scoreline though with the counter attacking threat of Villa... The goal was brilliant though, Coutinho dummy and the quick feet of Sturridge was sublime!
 
Made that second half a lot tougher than it should have been, but look at it this way, we have ground out 2 results in a row, something which we always seem to find hard to do.
 
I'm in love with Kolo Toure! Wasn't really sure what to think when we first signed him but what a signing he's turned out to be. 2 solid performances and he dealt with Benteke exceptionally well. My MotM for today.

Another excellent finish from Sturridge today too!
 
couldn't have asked for a better start. Now even if we don't do so well against united it's no biggie

And Mingolet will pull off worldies every 20 minutes too

growing to love that man very quickly. Not so great with his feet, but we actually have a goalie who'll save us points this season. He's won us 4 already

if we were to sign someone like Turan and a centre back, we'll be set for the year
 
Well played today. Probably the team most worthy of taking three points off us out of the three we've played so far.

Got to say... he has looked brilliant so far.. I wasn't convinced he was still capable of being the player he once was like at Arsenal. But ****** ****, he's been phenominal, also in Rodgers interview after the game with Sky I thought it was very good how he got Kolo because he wanted someone to kind of replace Carragher position at the club. Not just on the pitch but also off it... a very good signing for absolutely nothing! He would of been good for Arsenal considering their squad depth!
 
Kolo's been immense but we'll still need another centre back. We want to send Wisdom on loan, and Coates is out for the year, and Skrtel's probably off too. We need a good centre back.
