true you make a fair point but it isnt always down to who has the better team its who is up for it more on the day.
True, I'm just saying on paper there's no reason why United would be as scared of Sturridge as Liverpool should be of RVP, form or not.

As form goes there are not many players playing better than Sturridge. As much as we need to be wary of RVP, United need to be wary also of Sturridge

Sturridge vs Vidic and Rio isn't the same as Robin van Persie against Agger and Andre Wisdom. You're deluded if you think that requires an equal level of worry.
He was making out that he was as big a threat to the defences as RVP. While he is in great form, he simply isnt.
Anyone can score against anyone on their day, but some players are bigger threats than others. RVP vs Agger and Wisdom is a bigger threat than Sturridge vs Rio and Vidic.
Not saying he isn't in form, but United are gonna play numerous 'good' players who are in top form over the season, and will most likely come out on top still. Liverpool aren't exactly renowned for being clinical atm, form striker or not. Plus, Vidic and Rio, while ageing, are still one of the best CB partnerships this league has seen, whereas you're going to have a 4th choice, inexperienced defender against the best striker in the league, who's also in top form.
Every club we play are going to have ways to threaten us, it'd be complacent to think anything else. Just saying, to compare the threat RVP poses to your defence with Sturridge to ours is ridiculous.

Indeed, no one is saying he isn't a threat, he quite clearly is. But they are not on an equal footing.
Yeah, but we can still talk about who is a bigger threat going into a game. And going into it, you'd be hard pressed to argue against RVP vs Agger and Wisdom being a bigger threat than Sturridge vs Rio and Vidic. Whether it turns out that way remains to be seen.
This game will be a good test of Sturridge's reading of the game. If I was him I would be targeting the left channel, because Jones isn't really comfortable at right back, it will be interesting to see if he does it because he can see the weakness, or just because it suits his left foot. He'll basically be trying to do what Schurrle was trying for Chelsea, and hopefully do a better job, because United defended that impeccably on Monday.
