There was discussion of 24 games / 2 years, no idea where that came from? Presumably 'assault' instead of merely violent conduct/suchlike.

That is the maximum FIFA can give to a player. FIFA have never gave a sanction longer than 8 games so i would be very surprised was he banned for that amount of time

I would go 15-20 domestic, 1 years international with additional year in a gumshield. His last ban for this was 10ish i think?

It is highly unlikely FIFA give any kind of domestic ban, any ban is very likely to be international only

This is FIFA we are talking about, last time Suarez punched Chilean defender they didn't even ban him for 1 game. So don't get your hopes up.

It will be 4-8 games max IMO

Key word in that sentance is 'I' lads... it'll be 8, if spitting set a precendant at 6.

After the Echo and Di Marzio confirmed Liverpool had made contact regarding Alexis Sanchez, Phil Thompson has just claimed he has heard from several people a deal is done

This was on Newstalk FM apparently.

Thats a great buy if true, i well fancied City pick him up a few years ago,m before Barca come knocking, I wouldnt have been surprised if we'd have gone in again, but FFP has restricted us to only buying exactly what we need. Look forward to seeing him though.. Coutinho through balls to Sanchez.... *claps*

Not getting carried away yet, but if there was one signing i wanted this summer it was Alexis Sanchez and i said it on this thread about a month ago

Im just hoping my MCFC, get a CB (Fernando and Sanga are pretty much done, shame for Micah but fine.). Oh and if Yaya could pull his head of his ***, that'd be great.

Fifa can't ban him for domestic matches. Nothing to worry about there.

Still hasn't devalued him to be honest. Still wouldn't sell unless it;s 80 mil

there's interest, but according to the echo it's a contingency plan in case luis goes

The only side on transfer i can see being impacted is his own commercial/image cut and wages, Liverpool should be fine on the transfer fee i would have thought.

Contingency? swap him for Bartra & Song & Sanchez and whatever rookie in the B team is the next "..insert legend here.." on loan. :p

is yaya trying to get out of city cos it looks that way

James Pearce wrote: “Liverpool have been in contact with Barcelona in recent weeks to register their interest in Chile striker Alexis Sanchez, who is currently on duty at the World Cup.
“However, during those discussions the Catalan outfit haven't given any indication that they are plotting a swoop for Luis Suarez.”

Echo saying its genuine interest and doesn't rely on Luis Suarez

echo had an article the other day saying it's a contingency, but if that's true that's very promising.

**** knows why they'd want to sell him though

Essentially mass panic after their season. They're cleaning out, but I can't help but feel this is a little bit OTT.

**** knows, first its a cake, wtf!?? then saying we didnt let him spend time with his brother, when we've arranged care/pastoral support for Kolo and Yaya, and the family, and hes never asked for compasionate leave or any leave. In the last 3 years, we've given compassionate leave to any player thats asked for it, Tevez, Zaba, Adebayor and Mancini off the top of my head.

If he wants to sign for PSG just say so, these excuses and getting **** poor, using his brother is seriously ****** up.

they're just going to make a team of goalies instead. Bravo, der Stegen, Valdez, Pinto..

Wait wtf they bought Claudio Bravo?! He's far too good to be a backup goalkeeper. Maybe he's a safety net in case ATS flops. I completely missed that news.
