The training ban is an odd one, seems open to all sorts of interpretation . As far as I am aware, he's not allowed to attend any training that's undertaken by Uruguay or Liverpool.

Seems like Liverpool are being punished here more than Suarez.

I dont think they will fine him as he has not done the dirty deed in a Liverpool shirt.

Maybe not in a position to fine him but almost certainly in a position to sue him.

I dont understand the training or stadium ban part... a four month ban from playing is the only thing needed to punish him

I think Fifa have put in the stadium ban to keep him away from opposing players in case he feels peckish.

"Adidas fully supports Fifa's decision," a statement from the sports clothing company read.

"Adidas certainly does not condone Luis Suarez’s recent behaviour and we will again be reminding him of the high standards we expect from our players.

"We have no plan to use Suarez for any additional marketing activities during the 2014 Fifa World Cup."

Training ban is really weird and unnecessary. No idea how they intend to enforce it either. Even if someone captures him training on camera, Liverpool can always claim it was pitch invasion by wild hampster.

Liverpool are considering legal action against FIFA and are furious that Suarez's punishment has been extended to a four month global ban

LFC boardroom sources said that the club would explore the possibility of a lawsuit against FIFA over the decision for a 'global ban' (Oli Kay - The Times)

Hardly surprising Liverpool are trying to minimise the damage to themselves

Be surprised. It's his third time biting someone. They don't need more negative publicity.

Liverpool should definitely sue if thats a possibility. While I agree that size of the ban is perfectly justifiable, it doesn't actually affect Uruguay at all, but it hurts Liverpool properly. Something is definitely off balance here.

It's not to do with an appeal against Suarez, it is an appeal for Liverpool

They base it on the sense that FIFA have no laws for this type of punishment and the severity is unheard of considering the previous longest ban for a player they gave was 8 games

Liverpool will also have to pay out nearly 4million in wages when he cannot play or train and they think it is unfair Liverpool are receiving the majority of the punishment for something the player did on international duty

whether they go through with it, i have no idea

I can't see us selling Suarez if we go through with legal action. Can see no point in if if we plan on selling him anyway.

If Liverpool are worried about having to pay his wages then maybe his next contract or if they sell him the team he goes to should have a clause in his contract stating if you are banned then we will not be paying you any wages.

The way I see it going, Liverpool will accept the decision of FIFA, let the national FA take the hit/prosecute the appeal. If they have no luck, I'd assume the club would be open for a sale. Perhaps a slight cut price offer, but he's still a world class player - he goes on and on about how he dislikes the British media, then goes to the world cup saying "See what I can do in this world cup then write about that", yet completely ruins his own argument.

I can see the 'media factor' and his sky-high value at the moment as being the perfect catalyst for moving him on. Good age, his value will only decline from here, and as people keep telling me, FSG are a businessmen. Cashing in on an unstable asset whilst his value is high seems exactly the sort of thing they'd look at doing, especially since Suarez and FIFA have conveniently contrived a situation where the club can offload him without the same fan drama which was seen last season with Arsenal's cheeky bid.

It will be an interesting situation. If Liverpool do want to sell him, best do it quickly and then focus on investing back into the squad. Making this a long drawn-out transfer saga helps no one

Metro reporting that Liverpool are going to up their offer to £20m in order to finally end the Moreno saga.
