Gerard still has a role to play, but without a top tier striker it is not in deep midfield.

Seriously tho, where is Lucas. If Rodgers stopped freezing him out - apparently, anyway, be aware that this is hearsay I'm recounting right here - then he'd be a perfect complement to Henderson with Gerrard perhaps making up a triangle.

Henderson is another midfielder whose form has dropped off a bit since Suarez left
 
gerrard is the biggest thing wrong with the team what back 4 would be confident noin the have no support ahead of the the man is a legend and best ever liverpool player but he really needs to be benched and brought on as an impact sub

what does he bring to the team besides those hollywood passes him johnson ballotelli and lovern are pure an utter *****

Obviously people are entitled to their opinion, but by just coming on here and stating that Gerrard is '*****' is quite frankly ridiculous.

Out of form, played out of position/ used incorrectly perhaps but he is still a fantastic player

I agree with this - rumours is could happen tonight

Either way, at this moment of time Lucas has to be starter as he is the best defensive midfielder we have

he should be used like chelsea used lampard impact sub further up the feild playing him above the back 4 is just crazy
 
Mignolet, Manquillo, Skrtel, Toure, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Allen, Sterling, Lambert

Looks like a narrow diamond similar to against Palace with Sterling with Lambert up top
