Its quite a unique season as well considering the low point totals from the majority of clubs - we are still only five points behind Arsenal after all

If Sturridge returns and we sign at least 1 good starting playing then we have a chance but January is vital to us

I think it's really unfortunate because Liverpool could really have capitalized early on and pulled away from the rest of the pack and maybe even challenge for the title. Pity Sturridge got injured because he brings out the best in players such as Henderson and Balotelli as well

Second half of the season will be interesting for sure. City are on a winning streak and have gained momentum. Arsenal, United and Liverpool all look good to charge forward. The likes of West Ham, Southampton and Newcastle will be therein thereabouts. Hopefully Chelsea will maintain their early season promise

Tbings very evenly poised at the halfway stage as usual in the EPL

City and Chelsea will finishing in top 2, Arsenal and ManUtd have injury crisis and it's stopping any momentum they can gather all season.

Arsenal have Ozil, Kos, Walcott to return and Debuchy and Giroud just returned after lengthy break. Then they have Ramsey who missed few games. With all these players back they will be much stronger.

United have multiple injury problems and it's pathetic when we have to rely on Young and Valencia for almost half a season.

Liverpool will improve for sure with Sturridge back. Scope of improvement is very good for all 3 teams. But 1 big problem for Liverpool is they don't have a good replacement for Sturridge.

Agree with both of you - Although it is annoying we couldn't push on from last season and the lack of a replacement striker for Sturridge is really hurting us

I think its one of those where the replacement doesn't even have to be a world class player, a like for like striker with pace and movement similar to what is happening with Sterling now (A Lacazette, Remy kind of player)

January seems to be quite important for a few sides this year

Huge period coming up for LFC with seemingly 'easier' games and a little of our fluid play coming back

Burnley ( A ), Swansea ( H ), Leicester ( H ), Sunderland ( A ), Villa ( A ), West Ham ( H )

Looking at it we have to expect at the very least 4 wins although nothing is taken for granted in the Premier League

Remy would have been ideal and a bargain. Wasted on Chelsea bench.

Benitez apparently keeps delaying new contract negotiations with Napoli. Which would mean he has something new cooking.

Would be epic to see Benitez back in the EPL with Liverpool. The Mourinho vs Benitez battle is what made EPL so much fun in 2004-2007 period

First of all Merry Christmas to all.
Second when Burnley turned into real Madrid?

Class finish from Sterling. Really good player who has progressed leaps and bounds over the past couple of seasons. Liverpool can really have a good go at Top 4 if Sturridge hits the ground running. Rodgers new tactics seem to be working for the squad and the likes of Lallana have also settled

We played terribly today. Anybody else today and we'd have lost. We won't get anywhere near the top six unless a goalkeeper is signed, and as much as I want another striker, and a good defensive midfielder, we just can't afford that amount of players. We'll finish 7th or so

Liverpools performances have definitely improved over the last three games. You were unlucky to lose against United where De Gea put in a godly performance and Sterling left his shooting boots at game. You were definitely unlucky to draw against Arsenal as well. And then you beat that small club in the middle with a wonder goal. And today you grinded out the win which is what is needed sometimes. So things are definitely on an upward trend compared to the **** performances at the start of the season

I genuinely believe if Sturridge hits the ground running then Liverpool will do well. The likes of Balotelli and Sterling will perform better around him and having a star striker back will give the entire team a lift. Those players need to be signed if you want to challenge for the title but for top 4, I think your squad is good enough and FSG will probably look to inject some more quality anyways. CL revenues too precious for them to risk losing it

we played poorly but we won - against Arsenal and United we played so much better and came away with 1 point from 6

winning is all that matters and those type of victories give players confidence they can grind out a win

Very good performance and confidence is coming back to the squad - a few improvements in January if possible and the return of Sturridge (IF IT EVER HAPPENS) and we'll be in a good position to challenge for fourth

Shelvey had an absolute shocker tonight, painful to watch.
