And yeah we get a lot of penalties these days. None of which are dives, mind you.

Last I checked not one of those penalties was awarded by the FA!

Although I can agree the logic isn't very sound, I'd still argue that there's plenty of incompetence and inconsistency from the different football associations. I could probably list several examples from FA alone off the top of my head, but I'm sure you're all familiar with them already.

That doesn't mean they 'target' specific clubs or players, even if it could feel like it when your club/players fall victim of it. There is no 'FA conspiracy' of course, but inconsistency? Oh God yes.

Balo is the penalty taker all day long for me. I would even put him ahead of Gerrard.

I think Sturridge has been very selfish today. Balo needed that for the confidence too.
 
Thought Pool were lucky for the peno. Not the peno its self, but Besiktas should have defo had a foul in the lead up to it. Still pretty tight tie atm. Liverpool the slightest favourites.
 
Agree with Gerrard. Balo defo in the wrong, Henderson should of taken the peno like the manager agreed before the game. Rodgers will have to sort this out.
 
Balotelli hasn't done anything for the team yet to demand to be the penalty kicker. I don't care how good he might is in taking penalties or if he needed to score in order to get his self-esteem up. He has to follow specific orders. The last thing the team needs right now is disciplinary issues. Unless he starts scoring like a beast the next games....
 
have no idea why henderson n sturridge where even trying to take it mario is one of the best penalty takers in europe it should of been him all day long.. captaincy goen to hendersons head a bit i think
