This is such a non issue ffs. Blown way out f proportion and turned into something bigger.

There has probably been a lot more of a drama been made out of it than it actually was. With the players who were initially on the pitch last night Jordan was our nominated taker.
But if Jordan and Steven and Mario are on the pitch at the same time we would normally have Steven and Mario as the penalty-takers.
History shows he (Balotelli) has scored nearly 30 penalties in big games so he is an outstanding penalty-taker, but none of them were on (at the start) so you have to nominate someone.
Jordan was happy enough to take it but he gave it to Mario.
– LIVERPOOL MANAGER BRENDAN RODGERS

If nothing was wrong then it would not need to be talked about at all. You saying it will be talked about in the dressing room suggest to me that Balo did wrong. Which he clearly did! I have read and also spoke to at least 17 Pool fans today at work and all say Balo was out of order as was Gerrard.

We won 1-0, all that matters

I agree 100% but it happened. I also think Balo should take penos as he is class at them. But he should have just let Hendo take it like was agreed. Then could have discussed it afterwards.

Read what Rodgers said above - all cleared up there. The better penalty taker came onto the pitch, took the penalty and we won because of it

What's funny about all of this, was Henderson to take it and miss people would have been crying about how Balotelli should have took it

Sorry dont buy that at all Rodgers just trying to defuse the hole thing. If that was the case Balo would have picked it to take not Henderson and Sturridge would not have said to Henderson you are the penalty taker. Not the 1st time Balo has done this did it at City and tried it twice at Inter before Zannetti stepped in. It may be a lot of fuss about nothing, but that's only down to 1 person.

Hopefully the same thing happens again on Sunday so people can have a moan at something

Did Balo ever even miss a pen in his entire career? Its a no brainer he should take the ball for such an important pen, as well as manhandle anyone who opposes, if neccessary.

He missed two last year.

good management by Rodgers here. Stopped the whole discussion about this. I guess he sorted this out with Henderson in a private conversation and publicly supported both of his player. Both balotelli that looks to be making a restart in his career in liverpool or maybe it is just a temporarily flash but also Henderson who is the vice captain. However Balo wouldn't even dare to try this if it was Steven on :P

Bizarre comments from Rodgers regarding Balotelli. No praise and only criticism, i simply do not understand it

The lad has improved, started to play a little better and the only criticism from Rodgers is thrown at MB when other members of the team have been just as ordinary for the majority of the season

He's a massive douche re: Balotelli. Basically thought he was the one who could change him when better managers have failed (Prandelli, Mancini, Mourinho) and having realised he cant, is throwing him under the bus. Utter dogshit move.

I very much have my doubts that Rodgers actually ever wanted to sign Balotelli with this whole committee process behind him, but now he is here why all the negativity.

His comments literally help nobody
