That is why the whole transfer strategy needs revamping. Besides you dont have to pay top dollar too get good players as southampton showed.

Southampton's transfer strategy is miles ahead of yours. They have an excellent DoF already who works well in tandem with Koeman. You can't achieve what you want until this is rectified.

It's not as easy as that though, is it?

Without any disrespect, playing for Liverpool and Southampton comes different pressures and criticism. Ryan Bertrand was laughed at as a target in the summer by a lot of fans (me included) and he has turned out to be one of the better left-backs in the league this season

Out of Southampton's other new signings, I cant imagine many getting into the Liverpool side... We need to improve but it's not always as easy as some make out - I wish it was!

Thats all i meant i disagree that milner is top quality, but woulnt you rather shell out top wages to a top player. Making milner our highest paid player when he isnt any better than hendo is stupid.

What top player are you so sure we can sign?

Rodgers also said we were not signing him a week before we did - I really wouldn't take much notice

Even if he does stay, he'll feature as much as he has the last few months

That would make absolutely zero sense either.

I'd love Mario to stay and be played how he should be played. If he's then not putting it in, then screw him. He has gotten a lot of unnecessary criticism this year down to being an easy target. Some of it deserved no question, but a lot has been OTT. He has worked hard in a lot of games but has been left totally isolated and rendered useless by a ridiculous manager who seems to think you can play him on his own, up front, with no support. When you know full well he's not going to be closing players down like Suarez, and his game isn't about holding it up.

The manager takes a major share of the blame for the year Balo's had and being as he never wanted him to start with, nor has he tried to accommodate him to his strengths; it would just be foolhardy to keep Mario around at this point.

I reckon he will stay. Tbh who is gonna buy him?

Someone will always gamble on that talent and think they could be the one to get his attitude in check. When he's on, his talent is right up there with anyone It's just getting his head right in the first place which is a joke on the guy to begin with.

That was why it really wasn't a big gamble at £ 16 million. Bad enough when you throw in the years salary like, but you're always going to get the bulk of that back.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back in Italy.

Their must be someone out there who has more to their game than Milner. Personally the transfer just feels downing and carrolesque. If we do sign Milner we get a good player but I just feel that theirs more negatives than positives that's all. It looks like he is staying at city anyway so I think we can cross him out.

I'd like to think there was someone to be honest, but at the moment we don't know who's available etc, still a few weeks to go before people start crying for transfers! We will soon see!

The issue is that most teams will have their targets lined up. United for example already have a list of ins an outs for players, and we've already made our first signing, before the season had even ended.

Well you have the added bonus of CL, too end wages etc... Tbh apart from ings we won't see a signing until we know for sure who are manager is and if we scrap this committe nonsense and replace it with a DOF. Lots of issues still up in the air.

I think Wijnaldum from PSV would be a great player for you lot. Dont think he should cost more than 5-10M euro's and a good midfielder. Does his defensive duties and gives plenty of assists this season.

excellent shout out seems like just the type of midfielder we need. box to box, pace and goals in him. seems like the type of astute signing you would expect southampton to make. expect us to go for another unnecessary winger or something.

This is the first year in ages I literally don't even really care anymore. We're going to finish about sixth next season, the main reason is ******* no one, from the manager to the owners, know what the **** to do.

no reason pointing to last season as a reason to keep rodgers, because we didn't actually win anything. We came close, and were unlucky, but if you don't win the ******, it's worth nothing.
