You aren't going to find Klopp openly lobbying for the Liverpool gig. Or any other job for that matter. That rarely happens at the very top level.

But when you take into account how he spoke about the rich history of the club and the similarities between the two clubs/ City's when Dortmund were at Anfield last pre-season, alied to the multitude of reports swarming out of Germany the past week that he's privately very interested if it were offered him; it's not hard to see why people are putting two and two together.

And let's be honest, for anyone worth their salt who's looking for a challenge, there's currently no bigger or better challenge in World football than that of being the man to finally bring the title back to Anfield.

A chance to be an all time legend at one of the biggest clubs on the planet.

Who wouldn't want that?

To big a challenge imo. To much wrong at the club atm. Im not for one minute saying you are not a club with history etc. But that was a long time ago success wise.

This is not FM where you find most interesting challenges and opt for it. In today's game every manager wants his club to invest heavily for players and also want to retain their best players. Klopp lost several star players at Dortmund and I don't think he will be looking for similar challenge in the near future.

Also managers talking well about other clubs, always take it with a pinch of salt. They will never slate any club in the public and will always speak highly of whatever club is asked about. Pep always talked great about Arsenal and Wenger.

Klopp might be realistic target for Liverpool though, not because he finds history fascinating or it's the biggest challenge, it's because there won't be bigger clubs than Liverpool looking for new manager or looking for him.

Still carries over on the Continent.

The weight the name alone carries in Europe, despite the domestic draught; is second to none when it comes to English clubs.

'05 and '07 just kept that ticking over.

You literally exemplify the stereotypes that people have about LFC fans

Liverpool still have a big name in many countries and alongside Man Utd are a premier team in a lot of foreign countries, but that is being lost very, very quickly.

Partly to do with Liverpool's failures, and partly to do with Chelsea and City's success... Liverpool are a big club, but nowhere near as big as some Liverpool fans make out and that is part of the problem

I was completely leaving the previous comments as arguing with faceless posters on an internet message board is just about the most futile exercise going; but Chelsea and City have as much standing on the Continent as Nottingham Forest in reality. They're big players because of the financial side right here and now. But that aside they're of little consequence to anyone.

The current state of Liverpool Football Club is completely separate to the name that, as much as anyone wants to flippantly deny it; is still second to none in European terms from this Country.

Don't get sucked into the media bunkum that people no longer care about LFC the longer the on field mess rolls. We may not be any kind of threat on the field, but as a club theres still only one the majority of Europeans are interested in from here.

It wasn't a post towards you mate, and I do agree Liverpool off the field are still a huge team worldwide... But some do still think we're bigger than what we are

The only problem with this logic is that Napoli are the exact same as us. Having to sell their best players and on top of that they are a lot poorer than us. And not to mention the pull of Serie A is less than the Prem'.

But Napoli have a bigger chance of winning things than Pool do atm. And Prem do have the pull for sure, but Serie A is on the up no dout and Napoli don't have to sell.

I never took it as such bud. I was just running with your post to make the point.

He has got a point, why the **** would you want to take the napoli job over lfc. They like us have underachieved however they play in a ****** no competition league. The lfc job can eithier be a poison chalice or a big challenge. Im sure klopp sees it as the latter.
