Ibe being better XD! Let's not delude ourselves here. Raheem Sterling has played Premier league football regularly for 2 seasons and played in a world cup final, carrying Liverpool through most of last season. Sterling is pretty much the only Liverpool player that looks like he would be guaranteed world class. Sterling has started for a top national team in world cup finals at 19!

Sterling has carried Liverpool throughout the season at 20 years old. The whole team underperformed in the past few months. He was arguably the best Liverpool player this campaign. He had an overall successful season.

Coutinho was far better than Sterling. Sterling had a great period before Christmas but he missed some chances which Heskey would have been odds-on to score. No question that on his day he is one of our best players, but recently "his day" has been happening less and less often

I am starting to think you're either: 1) related to Raheem in some way or 2) one of his 17 children

Stirling while a good player, for me, is not worth the hassle at the moment.

Shows flashes of being class and he could well up being so if he can improve his consistency - which he can as he is only 20.....but he does seem to have been quite a ******* lately.

For 50 Million Liverpool would be doing very well.

Hopefully Firmino can replace him and Coutinho can keep up some of those great performances of last season.

England being a 'top National team' (stop laughing at the back) aside; you're seriously using players picked for England as a defence for anyone? SERIOUSLY?

Sterling has no more carried Liverpool Football Club through any season of his career than Liverpool Football Club sends doctors out to check on 'sick' players.

And again, take it up with the club coaches who work with the two day in, day out as to why they have consistently said Ibe has been an even better talent at every age level.

England are 15th by official rankings and certainly in the top 10 in the world on a player to player basis. Don't let you plain bias against the national team get on the way. Why aren't City bidding £40 million for Ibe instead? Why isn't he starting in the team over Sterling? Do you personally know these coaches that tell you he's better?

I remember hearing Suso was the next big thing, then it was Sterling, now Ibe.

Hopefully Ibe can at least become a Liverpool great some time!

(oh and Suso becomes class at Milan ;) )

Great. The USA are a top 30 ranked team. They had 19 year old Julian Green become their youngest ever WCF goalscorer and the youngest period since Messi. Presumably he must be a World superstar too huh?

Please continue using England and the meaningless FIFA ranking system to base an argument around.

This is most fun.

Ibe is much more direct than Raheem Sterling, however he doesn't have the creativity, movement or tactical noise of Sterling. This fiasco could have been avoided, if Rodgers didn't try to bully him into signing a new contract and his agent hadn't mislead him.

I know he was limited last year and didn't really show much (and the Sansualo sending off was a disgrace on him), but I really think the slower pace in Italy will be perfect for Suso's game. He's real gifted technically. Just physically where he fell down in England.Given time on the ball to play in Serie A he has the potential to be a player.

England are a top 10 team with nothing to prove. You are seriously biased and delusional if you believe that England are not a top 10 international team. Nearly every player plays for a top team in the champions league.

Yeah bar the sending off hes looked okay.

Looked ****** brilliant in a friendly game I watched him in, can't think who Milan were playing. Running for fun and smashed one off the woodwork. Only played 5 games, see what the new manager thinks of him.

On Ibe - I've only seen him play one time last year. Looked comfortable with the ball at his feet but that's as much as I can say on him so far!

I do think Sterling would be quite good at City, but 50 million is a ridonkulous amount of money. Still, if it works out well and he stays and plays well for 10 years I doubt anyone from City would complain then.

Fact is, he wasn't good enough to cut it. You can't expect opposition to give you a million years on the ball, which e plains why Italian teams fail in Europe.

England are a second rate National team.

One WC, on home soil. 49 years ago. With only one other semi final appearance. Through THIRTEEN finals tournaments.

And they've only ONCE been past the quarter finals of the European Nations Cup (again, on HOME SOIL) through seven finals tournaments. And never to the final.

The English WOMAMN'S team has just rounded off the second best EVER WC placing, men or woman, for England.

And yet again, England will doubtless be home before the quarter finals from another major this time next summer.

If you honestly attest that England are a major International side then your delusions are off the charts. Even the majority of England fans have stopped over hyping themselves as they know they aren't this top footballing Nation that the media still try's to make them out to be.

Or you can refer to the absolutely meaningless FIFA rankings and try spin it otherwise.

England have nothing to prove? We haven't won f**k all since 1966! They have everything to prove.

The reason that the England team get so much slack is that the national team are under performing. More often than not, England top their qualifying group and make the last 16 of major tournaments, making them a top 10 international side. Most players play in the premier league and champions league, at the highest level.

Not to mention coming of the back of our worst EVER World Cup performance

Worst ever being qualification to the world cup pretty much proves my point. England make it past the group stage 99% of the time, making us a top international side, whichever way you look at it. I never said the best. I said a top international side.

I admire your optimism... (Or delusion!)
