Well then maybe you should watch football. He is an excellent one on one defender rarely gets beaten. You can play a high line with him because he has pace. Brilliant in the air. He is defo in the top 10 in the world for sure.

No chance! Koscielny's better than Terry, Kompany, Hummels, Godin, Pique, Mascherano, Ramos, Chiellini, Bonucci and Thiago Silva? You need to get your head checked if you think Koscielny's in the top ten.

I rate Koscielny but world class is branded around too easily nowadays. A supposed world class defender who cant get into his national side regularly

I realised after I posted it, hence the edit (Shhh they'll never know). Yeah, I rate Koscielny too but it always feels like he's got a mistake in him IMO. He's good, not great and certainly not "world-class".
Considering you said kosch has a mistake in him you could say the same about ramos and kompany who both make some daft mistakes. People's judgement of kosh often get clouded by his first two seasons in the premier league. After that he has certainly been in the top 10 in the world. Mascherano often looks mismatched at centrehalf( i remember morata destroying him the CL final), hummels wasnt so great last season. Im just saying that kosch is often underated.

I wont use the french squad as an e.g deschamps has his favourites. Every manager has his favourites. Sakho is first team for france yet rodgers doesnt seem to rate him despite being our best centre half.
I think while they may not be the best defenders individually, Kos+ Merte partnership is great. Kos has the pace and likes to push up high and break the attack before it can happen, but makes a few mistakes doing this, where Mertesacker with his great reading of a game comes in and usually clears the danger. Last year it was shaggy because Koscielny was injured and Mertesacker's form wasn't that good and he started making some bad decisions.

Im just saying Kos is not world class. He is a good defender and is underrated by most rival fans but the term 'world class' is thrown around stupidly nowadays
It doesn't surprise me when Damola3 says it, he is possibly the most biased/deluded fan i've seen on here but struggling to see how he can be classed as one of the world's best
Maybe worldclass is a stretch to far but if were saying is he one of the top centrehalfs in the world then yes he is. However people say kompany is worldclass yet the guy had one season were he was on top form yet makes countless mistake ( charging out unnecessarily) yet he is considered amazing by bandwagons.

Yes, Ramos has a mistake in him but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with Ramos at the back than Koscielny (There's a reason Ramos has won so much). However I don't think Kompany's got a mistake in him, he was poor last season but equally City in general were poor and the same can be said for Hummels at Dortmund. Also considering Mascherano's not naturally a CB I think he does a brilliant job for Barcelona, of course he can be mismatched, he's 5'7"/5'8" but there's no denying his ability.
Perhaps Koscielny's underrated but you said he was "definitely" in the top ten and IMO he's certainly not. As I've said he's good, not great and certainly not "world-class" IMO.

But the difference is Kompany's had a season like that (When you're considered to be one of "the best" around), Koscielny hasn't.

The season before last kosch was excellent but yeh i agree he wasnt his best last season, actually not many of the top centre halfs had a good season last season tbh. Anyway Were going to be going around in circles as everyone has their own opinions of whos the best and not. So lets agree to disagree.

Don't get me wrong, Koscielny and Mert are brilliant defenders, but they are really out of form right now.
World class is quite funny too!
When defenders are out of form they will lose confidence if they make an early mistake or lose a couple of early challenges, someone like Benteke playing up top could ruffle them up abit.
It all depends on how it goes on the night, but you have to feel this is the right time to play Arsenal, as no doubt they will get incredibly stronger as the season goes by. I have a good feeling about tonight and I don't know why, but I would still be happy with a point.
Heard a lot of rumours that Firmino will be starting, will be interesting to see if he does.

And the way the pots are, we'd be massively unlucky not to drop on some boss trips. The Europa ****** all over the Champions League in that regard.
It's like Christmas day for adults.

That's harsh on that lad, he doesn't rate only Arsenal players as class. He thinks Rooney is still excellent and because we have Januzaj we don't need Pedro. So it's not Arsenal players, maybe with PL players.
