Would you judge him on a bad debut? Probably not, so why judge him on a good debut? :)

I'm sure you're pleased with the 3 points and Martial scoring on his debut, you should be. I'm just saying you haven't impressed anyone so far, and today you beat a completely clueless team. It looked like Rodgers instruction was "don't concede", so as soon as we crossed the half way line, everyone appeared to think "**** wtf do we do now, where's Coutinho".

Even we are sitting above Chelsea at the moment, and only have 3 points to 2nd place. But judging from what I've seen, we'll finish 5th or 6th. You'll finish 4th. That's my prediction anyway, and it was the same before the season started. The only thing that's changed is the arrangement of the clubs 1-3.

I'm not judging him but Fellaini playing as a striker is just a quick fix for 2 games. Once Martial is settled he will be our #9. So options are not so poor.

I agree with one thing though, we struggle against teams that defend in numbers and that's what most teams are doing against us. We need someone who can open up space or some magic like Martial did today. Without dribblers, this useless possession game is just nonsense.

Oh look, Rodgers has bought Benteke and completely failed to adapt his system to play around the type of striker he has. I wonder if this time, because it's not Balotelli, he might actually get the flack he deserves for it. You really should be looking to get rid whenever you can line up a decent replacement.

I dont think even rodgers can adapt a system to shooting randomly from obscene angles and making no runs in behind.

You're coming off both patronising and bitter, and your sense of calm really isn't showing through. Best off putting the keyboard away.

Probably the best advice of the night. And if that came across as patronising it honestly wasn't the intention. Just an honest view (and one which many of your fans here) are agreeing with. That was a terrible game of football between two real poor sides to what we should be. As happy as they are they won the game.

I haven't read through today's respective threads, but if ANY Liverpudlian denies we deserved nottin' they are wearing the worst shade of red tinted glassss. Again, congratulations on the win. But you're going as far under Van Gaal as we are under Rodgers. (I.E. NOWHERE near close to challenging/ winning it. I'll probably get slammed again but that was a very winnable game for EITHER side today. Except one had an even more useless manager who doesn't have a ******* clue.)

Talking of .....

Rodgers has literally NO support among the match going crowd. And it isn't a case of losing to Utd. This is an accumulation of *****. I'd love anemone to tell me what our MO is as nobody can see it. There's no pattern of play. No structure. No nottin'. He is completely and utterly out of his depth with not a clue to change anything. I've tried so hard to g against the tyde and back him this year but it's getting worse by the game. And if we're this pathetic at Goodison the Derby in a few weeks the away end will be like WWIII. The fella' is absolutely clueless and I honestly don't know how much longer they let it role.

I'm going iut to Birdeaux in Wednesday with the only saving grace of a great few days in wine Coubtry. The game is just an irritation to that as nobody expects anything positive.

We'v never been a fan base to call for a managers head but enough is enough. This needs to end before the season is well and truly over.

Yers all (L'pool fans on here) can sit there and say it's an overreaction. But trust me when I say it's going to get REAL ugly among your crowd the longer it rolls. ****, it is already.

Enough is ENOUGH!

It's all well and good asking for a change, but in all honesty who the **** would want to take over this team who is going to be a big improvement over Rodgers and who is available?

Nobody, aint no high profile manager going to leave just when the season has started. Only option they have now is to fire him and give O'driscoll the reigns till the end of the season.

I''d argue this 'team' is no worse than yours if played and utilised correctly. Which at the minute it isn't being. (Bentekes isolated on his own with no support. Ings in the left wing. Firmino completely lost. WTF was THAT all about?). They've bought well this summer but there's just no structure, no nothing from the manager to get the best out of those buys.

i'd honestly have Kenny in the interim until Ancelotti is back to full health and give him whatever he wants.

This can't continue. Henry must surely see that. What the tipping point will be I don't know? Maybe if we lose to Carlisle and their near 6k support. Something has to give as this is just rolling from carnage to carnage. Which stared a year and more back.

The modern day fan doesnt deserve King Kenny one bit. The abuse he got the last time he managed was despicable, let the man enjoy his retirement.

Not at the game he didn't. He got nothing but full support. I don't know anyone that wan't highly disgusted by his treatment from FSG off the back of a cup win and a dominating if unlucky performance in another.

Ironic that was at OT as I've not felt such passion and excitement at a game in EONS as when he came back for that first cup tie his second go around.

Don't be confused by what's written on Internet message boards and ****** in phone ins that couldn't point L'pool out on a map. Dalglish means more to this City than just about any man in history. Shankly started it. But Kenny pulled us all together and kept us afloat in our darkest hour of need. Our debt to him will NEVER be forgotten. And he'd be welcomed with open arms if he was asked to step into the breach again.

Personally, if I was he, I'd tell the club to go **** themselves after the way the treated him. But this club means more to him than anything outside his family and he'd answer the call without thinking. It's who he is.

But regardless, something HAS to change. This can't continue like this. It just can't.

Performances have been poor, bordering on terrible but 5 games in and on 7 points having played United and Arsenal away is not the worst (considering how we have played)

Norwich and Villa at Anfield next - 6 points and we will likely be in the top 4 with the other fixtures that are being played in that period

With Lallana, Henderson, Coutinho and Sturridge coming back it 'should' improve

I agree with the points on board part. I also admire you glass completely full mentality. But and a big but the league is a marathon not a sprint. Playing as poor as we have been looking disjointed with no real threat wont help us over the course of the season. We cant rely on individual brilliance and abysmal ref descisions for the whole season. Look at it this way its been 5 games and we have only played good for one half against arsenal. Thats just poor by any teams standards let alone LFC.

It has been poor, but it's five games in... was it 15-20 then obviously things should be changing.

The biggest thing for me today was that the line-up seemed almost perfect and pre-match talk was quite positive. Then the match started and the set-up negated the strengths of our attacking players. Absolutely bizarre

I 'hope' the players coming back will change that, but Rodgers should have adapted today

Yeah it was like on paper tactics were spot on then we started to play, and it seemed like we set up to get a draw. Ffs ings was practically playing wingback at one point. Like you said its only 5 games but the same rodgers mindset from last season seems to have been carried forward. 3 years 300mill spent and still not learning from his mistakes. What if hendo comes back and he shoehorns him into defmid like he did for the first two games?. What if daniel comes back and he isolates him like benteke today?. Meh its all pointless talking about it anyway.

I like you mate. Maybe surprising to you I don't know but I love your passion and positivity. From a faceless poster on an ambiguous message board it's great to see.

But just what gives you the above quoted? I mean the first three results (not performances bar a half at the Emirates) aside; just what gives you that optimism? For as hard as I try to back him as we always have with managers, I just see absolutely nothing. What's our identity? What's our style of play? Because this is just nothing. Can't say we went to defend today. Can't say we went to win. I honestly don't know what we went for save to say it was absolutely abysmal when the players he had in the pitch could of been utilised to do so much more.

i hate the thought of starting over. But this can't go on. It just can't. I haven't seen our crowd as ugly and until this season as split over a manager as the back end of Rafa's time and more so the horrendous Souness managerial era.

Now, he has next to no support in the crowd. This whole situation is tearing everyone apart and getting uglier by the game. Say we win the next two and look just as bad? Would that REALLY placate you? Results are papering over some MASSIVE cracks.

I don't know what or more so whom the answer is but this can't continue much longer. It just can't.

(Running very low on power BTW so apologies if I'm a while answering any response.).

I love your optimism...you got smoked by west ham at home, what make you think that norwich and villa are a guranteed 3 points?

Nothing is guaranteed, just saying that 6 points against teams we 'should' be beating would leave us in a good position in a few weeks time
