So the only side in front of us by quite a margin that we would have targeted pre-season is Man Utd?

It's so early that a win at the weekend with a few results going for us moves us above the majority of our rivals - All I am saying is that some of the reactions have been OTT considering it is so early and other teams have been struggling alongside us.

I want to believe you mate but it's not as if we've just had a bad start. We've been dreadful for some time now. Sure we had a bit of an unbeaten spell earlier on last season but that's expected of us mate.

With all being said I hope BR does turn it around and prove us all wrong. I just wish he'd man up in press conferences and say how **** we were. I actually like the way LVG publicly criticises his team after a bad performance.

I just don't get publicly criticising your team... What help does that do to a team morale by saying to the whole world just how bad you are?

That stuff should stay in house

Anyone else fearing the worse tomorrow?

With the form, well weakened side he's liable to put out and opposition sensing a major upset; this has the feel of Northampton under Hodgson all over it.

Although Bogdan for Mingolet might actually be an improvement .....

I don't really rate Rodgers that much now-days but

BBC Radio 5 live - In Short, 'There's a conspiracy against Brendan Rodgers'

and not so much about the conspiracy, more for the players he lost.

' ..... I think there's an agenda there, and I think there's certain people driving it.'

There is John. The man himself.
I think there's an agenda there, and I think there's certain people driving it".

I don't agree that there is an agenda in the slightest - There is genuine reason people don't think he is the right person for the job.

I personally do think there has been an overreaction, but I completely understand people's view points that it's time to go for BR

I have a good American friend who thinks Rodgers is safe regardless for the whole season as all FSG are interested in is get the ground finished and sell up.

They've apparently sacked BB managers for far less.

Now i wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. Expect alot of changes when the new tv deal kicks in, lots of owners in the PL will be defo selling up.

FSG seemingly cannot compete with the other owners financially whilst owning a MLB franchise. The relaxing of the FFP rules also did not help in the slightest

I sincerely hope some filthy rich Arab billionaire wants us as his next project.

Mario looking like a completely different player his first start back at Milan tonight.

Webbed in a great free kick, looking a menace and working hard. Amazing what difference a partner alongside makes huh Brendan?

It's better than saying we showed great character

Not saying that he necessarily approaches it the right way, but I do think it's difficult for Brendan to do that in a press conference, because it's not going to have the same effect. A manager like Mourinho or LVG could do it because their opinion is respected and would likely encourage a response from the player, but if BR tried it he'd probably cop abuse and the player would just get ****** off and want to leave.
I understand this can be turned around to say that BR doesn't have the track record of trophies to be able to get away with it, but I think that's a bit unfair.

A lot of rumors about ancelotti today. I know its to good to be true but if it is, there will be a manager with big reputation and respect after a long time in our squad(excluding Kenny who was a temporary solution).

Mail and Italian press reporting contact with Ancelotti - The obviously click-bait story would have been Klopp so perhaps there is some truth to it

And so it begins .....

It was a tweet last night linked from an apparently not very reliable Italian website:

#LFC have contacted Carlo Ancelotti. (CalcioMercato)

Make of it what you will but I have little to no doubt, as much as many on here like to laugh and mock and say we're not a big draw anymore that he would be very interested if it were seriously offered and backed up to him. You only have to listen to the reverence he's spoken about the club and certain players/ managers over the years, often unprompted. A recent stand out memory of that was prior to Madrid winning their 10th, when he was asked about winning 3 as a manager/ coach and all he could talk about was the honour to him to go level with an all time managerial great in Bob. Ancelotti grew up with us dominating Europe. He knows exactly how big and what this football club still means on the Continent.

Out of the 2, I'd prefer us to go all out for him personally. Klopp would be the one that would completely unify the fanbase (even the ever decreasing Rodgers backers seem happy to switch to the German) and would certainly bring the fun times back; but Carletto ticks EVERY box and is one of the most dignified, humble men going despite his ridiculous success in the traditional Liverpool FC manner.

Who knows what truth there is in any of it? But if they haven't at the least started to make initial contact with top targets or their agents/ advisers; more fool Boston.

Liverpool journos reporting that LFC didn't make contact with Ancelotti and club confirmed it.
