I am very shocked by the timing of the sacking, but not the sacking itself. Hopefully we have someone lined up already who can come in. It would make my day if we got Klopp, because I love him as a manager.

Nooo, first the lost against Arsenal and now BR is sacked. This is a ****** day.

But yay for you guys. :(

In all seriousness, it was stupid to let Brendan splash the cash on players that fit his vision, to sack him 2 months later. It should have happened before the summer or at the end of the season. A new manager is needed asap or else Liverpool could be in for a long 2015.

It's not at all bad as it seems to be honest. Yeah the perfomances have been utter utter garbage (though Utd came close to matching that today), but you're only 3 points of 4th/5th place Crystal Palace and Leciester respectively. And I never thought I'd use those words at this point of the season. god bless the prem

People say this like he signed complete dogshit though. Clyne, Benteke and Firmino are all very good acquisitions.

They can be good player but if they dont fit how you play it means **** all E.g Benteke.

A player like Clyne is a solid addition, however Firmino and particularly Benteke are the sort that need to fit a manager's style and vision to succeed. Firmino was bought in the hope that he may potentially become a world class player. A new manager may have bought a more experienced player. He isn't really a Sterling replacement. For example, Liverpool could had an experienced international footballer (world cup and 48 caps at 23) for less than half the price, however he spends 32 million in Firmino who is more of an unknown quantity after 1 and a half years of decent form at Hoffenheim. Benteke may not fit the new manager's vision at all, as he's that sort of player.

Whatever manager is appointed, and I hope it is either Klopp or Ancelotti, is inheriting a good squad and with the right guidance can reach at least the top 4 this season

Here's hoping FSG make the correct appointment

A-freaking-men.

One would presume they have been deep in talks with someone to move so fast on this and get him situated to come out of the International break.

Actually they are getting an unbalanced mishmash of good players.

It's definitely not ideal but all 3 of them are more versatile than people seem to be giving them credit for. It's not as though the new man is coming to come in and have to gut the squad. They need to make 2/3 additions to avoid having a United esque mashup of players and then they're good.

They are already there, though not quite as bad. Need 3 players in though.

A few big screw ups helped Brendan bring this upon himself. One of the biggest in my opinion was to freeze out Pepe Reina in order to facilitate the younger Mignolet. That would later haunt him in his reign in which Mignolet's inconsistency and awkwardness pretty much summed up his reign over Liverpool

Reina's heart went out of the club as soon as Benitez went.

Yeah, Rodgers could of been more accommodating to trying to bring him back into the fold, but Pepe f-ed things up for himself all by his lonesome. The open letter was just beyond stupid when he was still under contract.

Ancelotti or Klopp and it's all good.

Think how good Benteke would be under Ancelotti though?
