I think there will be quite a few tears on here if he is not appointed. Mine included.

LEAVE THIS PLACE OF OURS YOU WITH YOUR EVIL JINXING AND COME BACK SAY THURSDAY WHEN ITS OFFICIAL! :P

Joking aside, I don't think it's any doubt. Great to have a concrete report, but I've no doubt we've been talking to him for a whiles now and an appointment could well be very close.

I wonder if you take out the Suarez season what his win percentage would be. Tbh I feel he is being given waay to much credit for that season, I mean all he did was work to suarez strengths, we know suarez will be running non stop for 90 mins on top of that we hade the pace of sterling and daniel along with gerrards direct style of passing. It means if you win the ball higher up the pitch you have a better chance of scoring. So all that meant was implementing a high pressure system that worked effectively, I mean a better manager would have incoporated that with being solid in defence but I dont think rodgers even read how to defend for dummies. We lost the league because he had ZERO idea how to coach the defensive side of the game. No team wins the league letting in 50 plus goals. As a person I dont like him either, way to interested in himself and like lawro said he made everything about himself and not LFC, his foot in mouth syndrome ****** of every fan, constantly spouting rubbish. So all in all good riddance.

Modern day football - If a team win's it's a player, if they lose its the manager

Im not even going to bother. The proof is in his first season and the whole of 2015 but its still ok if he got us relegated. Smh.

Edit: Like you said, It pointless to discuss

Onwards and upwards either way.

Lol yep. Now we can stop arguing about rodgers until monk comes in. LOL when scouse reads this his gonna have a mini heart attack if this comes true. Quick touch wood ( I think ).

The timing of the sacking of Rodgers was very odd for me, kind of obvious it was made with someone else lined up.

If you get Klopp fair play, I didn't expect it to happen, didn't think he'd want the mammoth task but obviously he's a man of his word and it will be really interesting to see how he gets on if he is the one to take over.

Not odd, immensely stupid. Shows FSG are not thiking at all. The fact that the committee is there shows they havent changed much. I wouldnt expect much money to be thrown his way.

Also Klopp to Liverpool by end of the week isn't accurate.

Liverpool are hoping to tie a deal up by end of the week.

Spot the good journo (Barrett) vs the sensationalist (Joyce)

Seems perfect timing to me if you're going to make a change, do it during the break when you have 2 weeks to sort yourself out.

All this he was notified after the game by phone call talk I can't buy at all. This has been in the works and he must of known before the derby that his time was up. There were that many rumours flying last week Sunday was the end regardless. Then there's severance pay etc. You don't just decide to sack someone there and then and hope to tie all that up and jump onto the next guy immediately.

It's exactly what happened. Barrett is devlishly accurate on stuff like this. whether he had an inkling or not, he was still sacked by phone. Bemused that people are doubting Barrett over this yet hanging onto his every word over Klopp...

The point being I don't believe for one minute he didn't know this was happening. That may well of been the definitive word but I'm not buying he went into the derby without knowing that was his last game.

He didn't know he was being fired. The decision had been made two weeks ago, United being the straw that broke the camels back, but no one told him till Gordon rang

Harsh.

he has got the second best winning percentage of any LFC manager which is no mean feat. It didn't work out for him but he certainly is cut out to be a football manager.

In my opinion, he will become a very good one.

Wonder what the stats are for WITH and WITHOUT Suarez?

Too much smoke for there not to have been fire.

Rodgers must have known right from the summer that with his coaching team being dismissed and the board bringing in new guys, that the level in confidence in him was low. That should have sent alarm bells ringing in his head that he was fortunate to be given a final chance which he couldn't take and turn it around.

He has left Liverpool in a better state than when he arrived though. The fact they are able to attract Klopp and Ancelotti despite not winning any trophies in the 3 years shows that Rodgers gave it a good go and made Liverpool "relevant" again. Probably the job came too early in his management career to fully grasp it as this is a club where the fans and expectations are very high, even when success has been few and far between.
