Oh god. I get enough of this in real life from the bitters. They'll try and take the **** and you'll come back and completely destroy them. And then when they know that they're well and truly beaten they say "ha ha, bite bite".

TBF to zzeezy, this is him normally on, well anything. The most pessimistic poster ive seen.

Are you joking? Almost every notable Dortmund player since 2008 was either signed by Klopp or came through the academy. Dortmund were a mid-table club in a very competitive league when he took over, to suggest that people expected him to win the league within three years is just ridiculous.

Klopp's recruitment over the past few years has nothing short of world-class. Dortmund had a mid table squad when he took over.

Is it bad I am starting to struggle to tell the difference between the trolls and the complete morons on these forums right now?

So just like Arsenal have now?

You kidding? Arsenal are filled with world-class players such as Santi 'world class' Cazorla led by a revolutionary manager without whom sport would still be in the dark ages

I would appreciate talking about the appointment of Jurgen Klopp without the needless over the top trolling.

It will be interesting to see if Klopp's transfer policy will change at Liverpool because in all honesty, Liverpool aren't going to beat the top 4 clubs to the higher bracket of players, nor do they have the resources to compete. Klopp has a chance of sneaking into the top 4 this season, however the current squad isn't going to challenge for any honours unless a few top players emerge in the coming years. That's the main issue at this stage. The squad is 5th best and the resources at the club suggest 5th best. The history of the club suggests better, however that's the reality of the situation.

Lots of rumours suddenly about our interest in Ruben Neves of Porto - Deal already in place 'apparently'

The problem with LFC isn't paying the top wages or top transfers, I mean we have spent more than 20mill on individual players in the past 3 seasons along with nearly 100mill two summer transfer in a row. Also Wages shouldn't really be an issue I mean we offered Sanchez more than he would have got at arsenal but we weren't his preference for whatever reason. The main problem is the recruitment of players and overspending on average players and the needless buying of players who weren't needed. Rodgers and the committees transfer record was abysmal and hopefully that will change with the players klopp and his men will target. I mean our glaring issue for the past seasons has been gk and centrehalf, however we have neglected both positions. Even when we bought a cb it was to replace a left footed Sakho with a left footed Lovren, which doesn't make sense. A lot of work has to be done recruitment wise but I have much more faith in Klopp than I ever did in Rodgers and his inept staff.

hmmm bit weird, all the rumours pre-klopp have been that he is chelsea bound.

I've seen the rumours and they all look very, very loose. Seems like a Twitter rumours atm.

Yeah - The only thing that makes me think there may be something to it is the fact the lad who is reporting it was also the first to say Rodgers was being sacked after Everton regardless of the result

Mignolet

Clyne
Skrtel
Lovren/Sakho
Moreno

Can
Hendo/Allen

Milner/Lallana/Ibe
Coutinho
Firmino/Sturridge

Ings/Balotelli

that's how I reckon Klopp would line up the team, more or less, and as media reported he was watching the U18's shortly after appointment, I hope and believe he's gonna give more young players a chance in their *favored* positions!

also, while I've not been convinced by Lovren over the last year or so, there's something that makes me believe Klopp will get the best out of him..

we aren't gonna compete for the title this time, that's too premature and hopeful, wishful thinking!

but given how tight things are at the top of the table, a few good results, and a momentum, that might get us to a good top 4 finish, and that's what we should be aiming at! failing which, we need to have a strong Europa run as well, so that a chance remains for us to get into the CL next season, and Klopp should be considering all that I suppose..

the team he I hurried at Dortmund was young, inexperienced, and he made the most of available funds, and turned a mid table team to a very dominant one in the league, and some might say in Europe too..

in terms of inheriting, there's hardly a doubt he's getting better at Liverpool- experienced players, international players, some very good ones, it's a matter of confidence and a good run..

And if we talk about his Dortmund players roles and the ones for Liverpool, it's not gonna be a like for like, as definitely Klopp has different ideas and plans than what worked at Dortmund..

still, Hendo would be the Gundogan if the team, Skrtel the Subotic, Coutinho to be Reus, Ings or Sturridge to be Lewandowski.. it's just a similarity in maybe their roles, not comparing the players per se as there's vast difference between them!
Aubameyang role would be someone intelligent on the right hand, Markovic, Lallana, maybe even Firmino!
Can would be Bender..

but that's just thinking along the lines of the Dortmund team, and there's no doubt Klopp will have more ideas, better ones, than what you or me can even think!

here's to good times at LFC, long may this continue!

Just to be clear, are you putting Sturridge back out on the wing?

Like I've already said, you have to be out of your mind if you expect Klopp to utilise gegenpressing in every game. It was already barely physically sustainable in Bundesliga, and they actually get winter break to recover. It will certainly be in his toolset, but it won't be a standard approach, so all those Dortmund-Pool comparisions are pointless.

Not sure if Can can become our 'bender' (hehhe)

As to the above, not even gonna' attempt to speculate on the side/ formation/s he'll roll with save to say it's great he'll have a base system within that we'll stick to, with players actually knowing what their rolls are in the best positions that suit them and the team. Or potential signings. Just made up we'll be looking in the top tier of quality again and won't just be 'settling' for the sake of it.

I'm looking forward to Tottenham the most I've looked forward to a game in like forever as we kick-off the most important new era since Shankly dragged us out of the Second Division abyss back in '59 IMHO. With the most important outside hire we've made since then for me and the one truly World class manager (at the time of signing) we've ever hired.

With the ground redevelopments allowing us to both stay in our home (one of the biggest things of all for me. Couldn't imagine watching the Redmen anywhere else than Anfield) and close the financial gap on our rivals; the appointment of someone most every other major club would have in a heartbeat who's instantly ensured that home will become a rocking, exciting place to be as a red again and a place for the opposition to fear; along with an ownership finally accepting you have to go all out and do what it takes to get the very best to succeed at the top echelon in todays game; the future is looking as bright as it's done in years.

Our time is coming again fella's. Roll on Sat'day dinner to begin the long journey back to where we so crave to be.
