I've just read up on this thread and I just want to know if people were being serious when they were talking about Allen's assist. Surely no one actually thinks he meant to pass!? It was a scuffed shot all day long!

Whatever it was, I was impressed by Ibe's reflexes to control it and then lash it home, it deviated quickly!

I don't tweet. So I don't know. But apparently there's a lot of tweeting (if that's the right term) tonight that we're close to a loan deal for Nevan Subotic.

Which would be a massive boost if true.

Either him or Rannochia from Inter if you're going by the rumours it seems

Yeah I see what you are saying and he is the type of player you should be in for, do not see it being 22 million though, the deal in the summer was between 30-40 million in the summer IIRC and if he is available you will have a fight on your hands, can see United, Arsenal and possibly Chelsea being in for him and probably foreign teams too a lot of chatter Atletico after a striker. If you can snag him though mega signing, but be surprised if he moves before the summer, Lyon will be hoping he has a good Euros to inflate the price.

Many outlets have reported the 22mil bid being accepted from Newcastle.. I think Lyon are struggling a little and potentially having no european football next season could lower their price

Last season i could see those sides interested but he has tailed off a little which would hopefully play into our advantage was we interested

I didn't realised he'd even touched it in the ground but watching it back, I actually think he did mean to pass it. I might be giving him WAY too much credit, but f-it. It's the first game he's ever truly dominated so I'ma let him have that one haha.

Absolutely. Mocking here from folk who haven't watched him consistently aside, I don't think the larger public at large realise just what ridiculous potential Ibe has.

But he needs to start showing it on a consistent basis and adding the end product. Been around the first team long enough now. We need more from him. Get back to running at players and taking them on the outside. We know he's got the ability for it and is ostensibly an out and out winger. But for some reason he's gotten into the habit of cutting inside all the time which is making him predictable and easy to defend.

Ilori and Ojo recalled from their loans to go along with Kent.

Toure defo out tomorrow. Lovren out of Arsenal. Coutinho out of both Arsenal and Utd.

Much changed side tomorrow. Not normally one for changes like that but when you basically have had 12/13/14 recognised players to pick the first XI from for a month and more, with a packed January schedule, something has to give. So low League 2 Exeter is the natural one that stands out. What do you do? Needs must.

The Liverpool Legends were great value tonight, great atmosphere too! Everyone went ballistic when Rush scored :D

It was very low tempo though and obvious that everyone was past it, but Gerrard, Carragher and Luis Garcia were far and away the best on the field. Good fun, so happy that I finally got to see Gerrard play, even if it wasn't for Liverpool as such

You got to go the game? Brilliant. I did kind of wonder. Made up for you seeing such all time greats. And Babb and Westerveld lol.

40 thousand or so huh? Fantastic support.

Thanks mate :) They never come to Sydney - last time it was Brisbane and Adelaide, time before was Melbourne! I hope that means next time will be here, but if it's not then I might try to go anyway.

Westerveld made a couple of good saves actually, he played pretty well. The Australian team threw on one of their keepers as a striker in the second half, he'd been subbed off and then came back on up front.

Just over 40k yeah, it was great! :)

Don't think I've seen anyone here ever mock the player himself, more the absolute mad view that Liverpool fans had last summer which was along the lines of: "Good riddance Sterling, Ibe will be better anyway!"

Ibe the latest to pick up a hamstring injury.

Both him and Coutinho out until Feb and Lovren for two weeks.

We are frigging cursed.

*Edit* Club now saying they believe Ibe's is a minor one and he'll be back next week.

Smokescreen maybe to leave him out tomorrow to protect what we have for Arsenal?

Team for tomorrow? There is likely to be a lot of changes, but it is something that really needs to be done

Bogdan
Randall - Ilori - Lucas - Smith
Allen - Milner
Ojo - Texeira - Kent
Benteke

Something along those lines perhaps, with a strong bench to help if things are not going as planned

We were discussing this earlier and had the same team save for Lallana in for either Ojo or Kent. (We had it 50/50 on Texeira or Firmino.).

And any divvy, either on the BBC or otherwise who suggests we aren't treating the FA Cup with respect would be deluding themselves. That team, or something similar, is forced on us. Not by choice. (If only we HAD the players to make the bench strong.).

Sat here pondering whether to take a sickie tomorrow, fill a car up, and kip on the floor of one of the rooms the boys have.

An over nighter in rainy, cold Exeter on a frigging Friday night.

Some day I may grow up.

This was there last home game. That pitch will be a leveller.

You're deluded mate. Probably a man u fan or something. Of course Allen meant it, he's a technical genius.

Wow!German paper Bild reporting that Klopp/Liverpool are after Bayern-player/WorldChampion Mario Götze. #lfc

Probably putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5. But Fjortoft doesn't usually roll with stuff he doesn't think won't happen and is normally very good on German footie. And Bild (there front page went with this. £37 million or so reported fee) is a reputed publication so it does make one wonder and dream.

I nearly got a job at Exeter in the summer which as of now would have been very good... However, the fact its WAYYYY down south doesn't make it very practical the rest of the year being a northern lad!

It's actually something i can believe, but it may depend on CL qualification.

Gotze has struggled at Bayern and Klopp was the man who overseen his best years to date so would make perfect sense

It would in that respect, and I'd love to see Gotze play for us but we have a surplus of number 10's already. Sure he's versatile, can play both wings and up front, but his career best form was as a number 10, he hasn't replicated that at Bayern yet because he doesn't play there.

Yeah, but do we have any of that calibre? Phil maybe. But he's a way's to go in the consistency stakes. Not sure what Firmino is. False 9 is when he's looked interested. Klopp would certainly get the best out of him again.

One can dream.

I see Joel Matip has his contract running down at Shalke, wouldn't be a bad option at all, specially if Liverpool could get him on a free!
