Well there's the 10% chance of 4th we had thrown away!

Even if United beat City it's 7 points with 9 games to go (1 game in hand). If we win that game, it's 4 points in 8 games. Not impossible, but first of all I don't see United winning that game, and I also don't see us winning all our remaining matches. So the United - City game just became completely uninteresting from our point of view. If City win we still have a fair chance to finish above United though, but that's about it.

Easy to say now, but i'd rather bet on United in this than City.

City record in big games has been abysmal this season, and both centre halves out injured. United have usually played quite well in the bigger games

I have! Only problem it was Martial to score and not Rashford still time though. Put them in a four fold too see what happens.

"If we win that game"

I've said but unfortunately hasn't been the case for a lot of games. We just need to take it game by game and concentrate on Europe!

Yeah exactly, I'm not bothered with top 4 at the moment as I don't see it happening, so I'm hoping for a good run in EL. If we can make it past Dortmund we stand a great chance, but that's a big if.

Well, I'm relatively happy Utd won.

Keeps 4th alive. Been far better to of not f-ed it up today naturally, but until Skrtel reappeared we've been on a great run. Regroup and do 'Spurs after the break and see where we all end up. City are done. Utd are **** poor more often than not. West Ham up and down. Can't make a serious case for anyone to finish 4th as I type.

Just seen that Mane missed a pen he has had a horrific year IMO absolute shadow of last season and to think that there was talk of a what was it 30m+ or 40m+ move away from the club in summer

He will move for that price. Looks like his heart is set on moving, looked less interested in few games but in few of the games he looked just unplayable.

Even today after missing penalty he was the difference maker, he played really well vs United and IIRC he was excellent against Chelsea too this season.

IMO very talented player and just 23 years old too.

Oh Danny baby!

Another beauty. Great breakaway goal. Well done Divock. Great finish Danny lad.

Here we go again. We want six!

I think he has talent but is very inconsistent, maybe you are right he has not been interested so this has had a detrimental affect on his form this season. But the jury is still out for me especially if he is going to go for upwards of 30m

With the new TV deal, 30M will be a normal fee going forward. Also he will sign for teams above Southampton, if so they have to pay the premium price.

Even without playing as striker, he has 11 or 12 goals+ assists this season in a league. That's a decent return.

Still not entirely sure how we lost that game, when the entire match it felt like we were outplaying them comfortably. At the very least we were better in the first half and on the balance of play, fairly equal in the second half. At half time, it had been one of our best performances, in my opinion, the way we pressed, won the ball and then flooded forward. Better finishing and we could have been 4 up.

And then on comes Skrtel. He has to go in the summer. Their last goal with Mignolet's botched clearance and Skrtel's missed header has to send a message about those two players, surely?

I'd also add this is the first time Klopp's been out 'tactically subbed', if that statement makes sense?

Koeman's subs changed the game and wrestled control back into Southampton's hands where there'd been none the first half. Whilst we just never reacted to those changes and failed to adjust with our own. Along with the head scratcher of bringing on Skrtel and not Kolo if you're taking Lovren off. One man in form. The other having been out for a long period and nowhere near match sharp. The game was crying out for Henderson off the bench to negate Wanyama and get some control and discipline back in midfield from well before Southampton's first goal. But we left it and got punished.

He's been pretty much spot on in most everything he's done to date but today he got his changes badly wrong and failed to adjust after Koeman made the relevant half time adjustments for his side.

Score one for the Dutchman and put it down to experience. Regroup and get back on track after the break.

**** happens. Today they got better of him. Next time he'll be back to getting the better of them. That's football.

Nice to see the mancs coming out from under their rock.

Been rather quiet the past week. Where've you been?

Nice to see you trying to act smart for a change but poor effort.

Go and check post history.

Not too shabby consistency for such a 'small' club huh ..... ?
