Absolutey. As much as it's gonna' be a killer having no Euro trips to go on (come on L'pool announce the Mainz friendly already!), thats another major thing in the optimism for a serious challenge at the least next year. More work together on the training pitch with one of the beat coaches around having a full week more often than not to prepare. Should be a smaller squad too with the same team more or less most weeks with little midweek games inbetween.

You decide on what friendlies you're going to mate? Im looking at going two as I'll be working the home games when the season properly starts. :'(

Grabbed tickets for them all but only arsed Fleetwood for a new ground haha. Probably defo go Tranmere and maybe Wigan as its the Sunday and a decent bevvy. Still being told Mainz is defo happening the Sunday after Barca. L'pool just sorting the logisitcs out. (Which should just be a straight flight out of Heathrow Sst'day night.). Couple rooms held in Mainz for the Sat'day/ Sunday. So defo swerve Barca for that. (99% sure I'd jib it anyways and move the ticket on. Just no entusiasm for a Wembley wool fest.). Mainz looks a boss little town and still some real cheap flight options all round. (Dusseldorf/ Stuttgart/ Frankfurt etc.).

Defo Tranmere and Fleetwood and (hopefully) Mainz. Maybe Wigan but move the Town/ Barca tickets on.

I went for Tranmere as I've never been the ground before. What's the nearest station?

Dunno' la. I'd guess Rock Ferry out of either Limey or Central.

Only ever been the once and that was the cup tie back 2001 when we just drove over.

Need to box that off as might well get the train over Friday night

I was thinking of driving mate but the idea of having a few bevvys means its the train for me.

If thats what I'd personally done I wouldn't of even questioned it. (Like if you'd thought my asking of sunil to leave me out of his arguments with others was inflammatory in any way and nipped that in the bud before any response.).

The different conversation with Alcaraz, which he appreciated the clearing up of on the initial misunderstanding of my general musing how foreign it is for me personally to have to 'choose' a club, got swept up in the B/S of the last couple of days from other posters was the frustration.

True - cant understand how Mike found any fault in you mate! You made a pretty valid "point of order" point actually.

just incase anyone has seen coutinhos hit trick for brazil, shame he couldnt do that more often for us.

Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho hits hat-trick for Brazil at Copa America | Football News | Sky Sports

I've just literally finished watching that game on full matchesandshows.com. Had a fantastic all round game. When Phil plays like that he's an absolute joy to behold and up there with anyone. Just doesn't happen as often as it should. Big year for him coming up.

That was the very first time I've seen a half of FM wonder kid Gabriel Barbosa of Santos. Man alive is that one special kid. We should be WELL in for him. Through the middle or either side of the three he'd be devastating. Linked up real well with Phil and I was even more impressed by how unselfish he was. And still only 19 too. He's gonna' be the next big Brazilian export to Europe.

My bitter blue mate saying they weren't playing anyone special.

Two of them strikes were special, doesn't matter who they were playing. The types of strikes that he just pops up with no matter what form he is in.

MUST keep hold of him!!

Was a very entertaining game which I didn't expect. Haiti actually had some chances too, their Bolasie-like left winger was pretty good, their striker quite skilful as well.
Cou had some poor passing in the first half and early in the second half though at times. Great strikes though although he won't get that much time in the Prem.

And that guy Gabriel Barbosa.. Also the first time I've seen him actually play. His runs were fantastic, he was so much faster than all of the defenders as well, even if they had a 5 meter advantage. Was unlucky not to bag a hattrick, don't mind if we get him :D

Barbosa would be an incredible signing and I'd love us to pull out all the stops and try our best. I don't think it's likely though, it's been rumoured for a while that he has an eventual move to the Bundesliga, possibly Dortmund, lined up. And if we went in for him then so would just about everyone else, you'd think

To say they weren't playing anyone special is an understatment. Haiti is one of the poorest and most underdeveloped countries in the world that was pretty much destroyed by an earthquake 6 years ago ...

Doesn't change the point I made.

With you on Barbosa first time I've seen him and he didn't disappoint looks to be a star of the future

If Coutinho does leave I wish him the very best. Wonderful player and an excellent pro as well, our only hope now is that PSG still have some FFP restrictions because if not they will have no problem paying the asking price.

Also wanted to add good luck Agger who just retired. Wonderfull ball playing CB unfortunately injuries got the better of him. Legend is often overused but for me Dagger was a legend in my eyes. Turned down Barca twice only for Bodgers to discard him and keep Skrtel instead. Rafa's best signing for me after Alonso of course :D

You are beint overly optimistic. The amount of space he had for the 1st and 2nd goal will unlikely ever be granted to him by a serious professional defense. I am not even going to talk about the 2nd goal. I am not denying hat Coutinho can score wonder goals but these 3 were not among them considering quality of defending and opposition in general

you defo only come on this thread at times to just wind people up

I dont think Alcaraz is trolling in the slightest and against better opposition his opportunities may have been limited.

However, you can only play what's in front of you and the two strikes either side of the tap in were excellent. Hopefully we can keep hold of him because despite him being inconsistent, he remains one of our best players.
