Scouse, you need to tune into the Dortmund and Leipzig game and watch Yan Diomande, who is apparently our main target after the Semenyo fiasco. Meteoric rise in football after only playing pro level just recently, but you can tell he is special from his first touch, and good decision making for a young player with minimal experience.

That first half was up there with one of the most eye bleeding half's ive ever watched as a fan. Guess what don't care disallow that. Performance was horrible all round but get in and get out job was required today. Needed that after Chelsea dropping yesterday.

Edit: Games like this are hilarious when it's a one off but **** how did we look like the unfit ones chasing second balls against a team with worse squad depth than us who played a European game on Thursday.

Going back to my first visit, on a miserable NY’s day in 1987, when a late Ian Rush goal saved a point in a 1-1 draw, I have now seen L’pool at the City Ground 16 times. Yesterday was only my THIRD victory there! And all those have come in the last 4 years! An 18.75 % win rate. To say The City Ground is a bogey ground for us is an understatement! And it’s never, NEVER been a good, enjoyable watch. Going right back to the great ‘80’s sides, it’s always an old school, proper rivalry scrap/ war of attrition. I’ve yet to see one enjoyable, good performance from L’pool there under Kenny, Jurgen or anyone.

For those that don’t know, Forest are traditionally one of our fiercest and most hated rivals. A rivalry born from this little provincial club who not only came from nowhere and challenged our ‘70’s dominance at home and abroad. But who toppled us on both fronts. A rivalry that intensified during the 1985 miners strike. When the Nottinghamshire miners broke the strike and crossed the picket lines. The very antipathy of what fiercely socialist, proud unionist Liverpool is ALL about. Ever since, we’ve sang about them being s cabs. They’ve responded in kind. You then throw in that absolute low life piece of bleep Clough and the scandalous, disgusting slurs he threw at the City and its people in the aftermath of Hillsborough, and the hatred has just intensified. We only rank a smidgeon below Derby (Another East Midlands club we have a similar, long standing, mutual dislike of) in the clubs Forest fans detest. When we played each other in the Cup in 2022, the first meeting in 23 years, the level of outright, venomous hatred towards us hadn’t dissipated over the years. The bile toward us was like going to Goodison. Something you rarely get in the sanitised PL of today. We just don’t like each other. At all. And yesterday was no different.

So to go there and win in THAT manner, the single best way to ever win any game of football when you are in the ground, let alone when it’s against THEM, was spectacular enough. To do it minutes after that moment had been cruelly robbed from us made it extra special. Forgot the absolute dog of a game, from both sides, that had gone before it. When AllyMacs ‘twice’ scored injury time winners went in, our end went OFF!!!!! Arms and limbs everywhere. I was dragged down in one big scrum from some young lads behind who just went wild. With a couple of nice bruises to show for it. And I wouldn’t swap them for the World. You just can’t beat that high of snatching a win at the whistle when it comes in the bear pit of an opponent’s ground who hate you with every fiber in their bodies. The constant abuse toward us and the City was as strong as ever yesterday.

To have that now happen like that, twice in three seasons there with first Darwin, and now Macca’s last kick winners is unparalleled ecstasy. To be able to belt back the garbage they’d been singing all game about being in Arne’s head the end was just gloriously perfect.

No need to talk about the dog of a game. No need to talk about some shocking individual performances. All you need to need to know is L’pool won the game, against THEM, in injury time. Then had that taken from us. Then found the mentality and grit to go win it again! That’s ALL that matters that has you bouncing into work today.

Moments and memory’s are what football support is ALL about. And nobody in that away end yesterday will EVER forget the end to that game and what a brilliant Sunday night it lead to. Not the dire game that lead upto it. But ‘You remember Forest under Slot when AllyMac scored a winner TWICE in injury time and the absolute scenes the let off in r end …… ?’

Watching Wolves- Villa, and as always with Villa, I really hope the rumours that I keep hearing more and more about Morgan Roger’s are true.

He’d be another superb addition with his versatility to play right across the front line, and drop in to Wirtz’s role. Along with ticking another home grown box.

I’d be very proud of my team if I were a Wolves fan. They could have easily thrown the towel in this season. Instead, they are still giving everything.

Made up they’ve put the Derby record to bed. Nobody has been Derby bad. They were truly F pitiful.

It's like an xg merchants worse watch lmao. Still have periods in the game that we just lose control in the 2nd half but I've been bleating on about our lack of fitness all season so I've come to accept it with the current management. But hey I'd rather be gathering some kind of form during the business end of the season and fingers crossed snag a trophy or two.

If only we hadn’t had a tragedy and had an actual full pre-season aye? And not one cut short and disrupted. Maybe then we wouldn’t have been playing catch-up all year fitness wise.

But actual context of the season aside, the ideal is finding the perfect balance between Arne and Jurgens approaches.

We ran legs into the ground under Jurgen which often cost us late in seasons injury wise. Along with ending careers early. (Fabinho and Thiago the prime examples.). Ruben Peeters, like he did at Feyenoord, kept everyone healthy most all last season to afford playing the same players consistently. And the proof was in what we’d failed to win the previous 4 seasons under Jurgen. Doubtful we have that luxury or win the league last year the way Jurgen worked them in training.

Finding the happy medium between the two approaches is the key.

If last week at Forest was utter tedium, through an absolute dog of a game, to get to the highest of highs at the end that just can’t be topped, which had left you buzzing all week long; West Ham continued that good feeling and had everyone coming out the ground on a high, with smiles on faces, after a really enjoyable game of football.

Yanno, reading and watching reactions to yesterday across SM and the internet, it leads you to believe that many have forgotten the essence of what being a supporter is all about. In a season where there’s been some real hard watches, and some really frustrating, disappointing results, that was a proper fun, enjoyable game of football. The sun was shining for the first time in months. And L’pool had what was a pretty routine win, scoring 5 goals in the process, to move to within one win of third in the table. Just a totally relaxed, enjoyable, fun day out at the match. I mean if you can’t enjoy big home wins like that without having to find something to nark about, just exactly WHAT is the point of being a fan to start with?

Yeah, L’pool knocked off second half and made a standard, routine win more mad than it needed to be by madly turning the last 40 mins into an end-to-end basketball game. But they were always the better side who were always going to win. And win well given their determination from the off. And far more clinical finishing of late. At no point where you ever left in doubt or worried that the final outcome wouldn’t be anything other than a comfortable L’pool win. And it lead to a really relaxed, enjoyable day out just being entertained that had everyone present, of a Red persuasion anyway, walking out with smiling faces. Very reminiscent of many a win under Jurgen. The Reds by far the better side with by far more attacking fire power. But who madly forgot the defending part and turned those games into mad, basket ball-esq, we have a chance, you have a chance. We have a chance, you have a chance, mad, but excitingly enjoyable, games.

And don’t get me wrong. When we did knock-off after West Ham’s first, there were some proper mad moments where misplaced passes presented West Ham with some real decent chances. It wasn’t perfect by any means. But all the while, L’pool were still creating, and missing and scoring, more glorious chances of their own. And they scored 5 excellent goals. From 5 different goal scorers. When was the last time something like that happened? All without well arguably the best player in the entire league currently with £116.5 million of genuine, World class German creative talent missing again. Aside from the continued absence of a further £125 million worth of one of the planets very best goal scorers. Which is why these moments are to be celebrated and enjoyed. NOT spent dissecting the negativities and doing mad ‘What if?’ scenarios.

Joe Gomez returns for what feels like his first start in like forever. And puts in his usual, calm, assured shift for the 77 mins he could manage. Kerkez is once more really good both ends of the park. Boxing Bowen. And adding a real good, attacking option wide. Frimpong is electrifying in his short return to show what we’ve badly missed in attacking transition his absence. Even the much maligned Salah and Gakpo have decent games. Mo holding the width, drawing two men to him at all times creating space for others. Whilst being sound, if not spectacular, in possession. Cody dovetailing well with Kerkez and Ekitike. (Who, as brilliant a debut season as he’s had, BADLY needs some heading practice by the way! Deary me. Ten Bob head him! .). Going outside his man and being a constant wing threat. Moving Gakpo joint 4th this season in G/A in the process. (8 goals/ 4 assists.).

Everyone else is ‘meh’ and makes their own mistakes through the game. Alisson in particular and his lackadaisical kicking is getting beyond frustrating now. But then he produces saves and an assuredness back there very few other goalies this league can. And Arne could have been quicker with his changes. Ideal opportunity to give the consistently impressive Rio and Trey longer minutes out there.

By no means perfect. But man alive was it enjoyable. In the sun. With L’pool playing with a tenacity and determination from the off to make sure we came away with the three points that were deserved and never in doubt.

And now we get to visit the ‘delights’ of (not so) ‘delightful’ Wolverhampton twice over the next week. Before returning to that wondrous City by the Bosporus we know and love so well.

C’est la Vie.

Agree to disagree you cant use the pre season excuse for how unfit we look this far into the season. Sorry but its an excuse and it's just the current management way of doing things. Fyi Jurgen would've walked this poor set piece **** for a league this season and the last one too...

I loved his brand of football. And had some of the best times I’ve ever had at the match under him. But there’s no denying the difference in sustained player availability all last season with Arne’s staffs tweeks.

We’ll leave the context of a shortened pre-season, and a poorly built squad leaving us down to having to ask the same players to go over and over and over after the major injuries all season on top of that as you seemingly don’t want to countenance it.

The same 12/13 players playing game in, game out for months being tired? Off the back of a disrupted pre-season, the most important time of the year for fitness for the season …..Mad to think that context is why they’ve been goosed around 80 most games aye?

You love context but don't want to apply it to your own argument. Going up against prime 115 charge FC and Jurgens isn't the same as the world Slot inherited last season. Dont confuse hard training with relentless pressing that hasn't been a factor of our game in years even under Klopp. Im not talking about relentless style but basic fitness that has us looking malaise every game in the second half coming up to a year now. We went from the fittest side in Europe to what the **** we're watching now.

We both congratulated Slot last season on controlling the game but the signs we're there last season as we slowed down and the more unfit the players started looking under him. Yes the squad building has been poor but there's a common theme and instead of naturally getting fitter as the season goes on we have gone backwards. You want to use the excuse of major injuries, look at Spurs right now or go back a couple of seasons ago and do you see Slot getting third with a championship and non league level pairing of CBs since you love context...

And ironically, there was a former fitness coach yesterday saying how ridiculous the training g was under Jurgen. And how muscle injuries have decreased massively with the data driven Peeters model,
