I don’t know how you could be remotely happy with that midfield. And squad in general.
As I type, and I’d caveat this with there’s still three weeks to go the window, but i’d make Liverpool and Utd as outsiders for the top 4 looking at 5th and 6th.
Like I said the only areas I would ideally like to strengthen is back up LB, CM, STR. We actually have a pretty deep squad. Not perfect by any means. But plenty of experience and a good blend of talent also.
Yes we need another CM depth. But if Santos continues his form from pre season into the real season he will look like an absolute steal and direct replacement for Casemiro just with way better mobility.
Tielemans will add huge amount of experience and quality. His ability to control tempo, dictate from deep playing through the lines and good at breaking the press could end up being signing of the season.
Mainoo under Carrick has rediscovered his form and was absolutely fantastic second half of last season even just before Amorim left he was finding his form.
Ugarte will be back to n January. Absolute **** on the ball but still good if you want just a pure ball winning option to do a job will likely be 5/6/7 choice. Behind a new CM, Santos, Tielemans, Mainoo, Mount, Fletcher, Orozco, Paige if we get him from Leicester.
Attackers of Sesko, Cunha, Embuemo, Amad, Rashford, Lacey, JJ and likely a new attacker is good options for the front positions.
In defence De Ligt, Martinez, Maguire, Yoro, Heaven, Dalot, Mazz, Shaw, Amass plus likely a new left back. No issues in depth or quality there. Fitness you can say yes.
Baring Arsenal I would guarantee any other team the remaining top 4 positions this season for various factors. Leagues wide open this season imo.
