THE LIVINGSTON ADVENTURE PART 2:

Hughton Joins Livingston F.C.
Former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton has left Newcastle to join Livi after a reported bust-up with chairman Mike Ashley. It is a well known fact that Hughton never got on with Ashley and it was no shock to hear the news. Just three hours after quitting Newcastle, Hughton accepted a job offer from Livingston who are squandering in the Scottish Third Division and in financial problems. it will be up to him to bring this club back to it's former glory.

Hughton snaps up Kalenga, Ouattara and Smith!
New Livingston manager Chris Hughton has signed Marc Kalenga and Moussa Ouattara on free transfers. He has also brought in Dundee Utd's promising centre back, Ross Smith, on a season long loan. Hughton is said to be delighted with the calibre of players Livi have managed to bring in and is also looking forward to seeing Smith play, a bright young defender. All three players are said to be glad of some first team football.

Hughton Brings in Daquin and Monin!
Chris Hughton has signed his fifth player of the transfer window in a huge turn around at Almondvale Stadium. Hughton says that Daquin and Monin could perform brilliantly at First Division level and is delighted to have brought them in. Hughton is looking for them to make and immediate impact.

Nice one!!

As Kris says, it's **** easy to get into the First, but getting out of the First will be difficult. It is notoriously difficult to get out of in real life and unfortunately the game is the same...

It's also unfortunate that the game isn't representative of just how good Livi's youth system is - one of the best in the SFL (divisions 1-3) and better than some of the smaller teams in the SPL, producing players like Graham Dorrans, Robert Snodgrass, James McPake, Murray Davidson and Leigh Griffiths.

Best of luck, really hope you do well.

Thanks mate, I am updating soon. Could you give me some tactical advice?

Hughton Unveils Kostadinov and McLachlan!
Chris Hughton has bought Scottish goalkeeper Gavin McLachlan and Bulgarian striker Branimir Kostadinov both on free transfers. Both players will provide good cover for the first team and both are on relatively low wages.

Good luck mate will check for the updates soon.

Not sure what tactics would be best for you tho.

Thanks for the comments.

Cheers, god knows what happened to my last Livi save though...

Thanks mate, I am updating soon. Could you give me some tactical advice?

I changed a few player's positions and stats to reflect how they are IRL.
These were:
-Joe Hamill made him a CM/LM
-Cammy MacDonald - Made him better (gave him a rating of 82 on the editor)
-David Sinclair - he ain't a centre half he's a centre mid/defensive mid so changed him to that and made him beter also (76 on editor)
-Changed Kyle Jacobs to a CM/RB - plays in both positions IRL - and made him better (60 on editor)
-And lastly I made the youth system better (14 on editor) and gave the youth players more potential - Especially Andy Halliday (-8 on editor)

My main formation was a 4-3-3 and my main 11 was:

-------------------------------------------------------Roddy McKenzie

Jonathan Brown/Kyle Jacobs-------Danny Griffin-------------Cammy MacDonald-----Jason Talbot

--------------------------------------------------------David Sinclair

--------------------------------------------Liam Fox------------------Joe Hamill

David Winters-------------------------------------------------------------------------------Andy Halliday

----------------------------------------Robbie Winters/Rafa De Vita

This team won me both Third and Second (second without Jon Brown).

I signed Rory Loy, Nick Phinn, Kevin Cuthbert and Neil McGregor first season I was in the First and came 4th, using same formation.

Second Season I signed a regen striker from Inverness called Robert Howie and Murray Davidson. I am Currently lying 2nd in March using the same formation but have stopped playing that safe now.

Really helpful mate. Hammil is a winger on my game. Did you retrain him?

Good luck mate! Another nice story by you! :D

My 600th post xD

Thanks mate, appreciate it. Well done lol. I am honoured it is on my thread. (H)

Ok, I'll try and retrain him in-game then. Thanks.

Livi out of two Cups!
Livingston have been knocked out of the League Cup and the Challenge Cup, both in the First Round. Hughton fielded a weak side in the Challenge Cup and as expected lost 3-1 to Queen's Park. However, on a positive note, Hughton was pleased with the youngster's efforts and expected more of the same. Liam Fox grabbed Livi's only goal. Finally, after battling hard, Livi were edged 1-0 in the League Cup to St.Johnstone but Hughton was ecstatic with the performance and stated that "we will win the league if we play like that!" In what seems like a poor start Hughton remains strangely upbeat.

Livi enjoy unbeaten month!
Chris Hughton's Livingston side find themselves third in the table after a four game unbeaten run. However, two of these games have been goalless draws. Hughton admits that goals have been very hard to come by and is reportedly looking for another striker to add to the squad. On the positive side, Livingston eased to victory against East Stirlingshire and Annan, winning 2-0 and 1-0 respectively.

Player of the Month
Liam Fox is my player of the month, he has been solid in central midfield and has ripped open defences with his passes. He has also got two goals to his name including the winner against Annan. He has got one man of the match award and no-one has come near him based on performances.

Hughton's View
"A bit of a disappointing month. We lacked the goals needed and should have won 3 or 4-0 in the goalless draws. On the positive, we haven't conceded in the league and we got two wins." Chris Hughton was speaking to Sky Sports News.
