Really interesting to look back at this squad and see how far City have come since then. The foundations were clearly being laid with players like Silva, Kompany and Yaya, but no one could have predicted the dominance that followed a few years later. Mancini definitely deserves credit for shifting the mentality, even if Pep later took it to another level.


Also, the Dzeko–Agüero partnership in that season was underrated. Both complemented each other really well.
