The Manchester United Thread

Moving and inspirational. Can't remember a time I've wanted a player to play as much as Owen. I really hope he can get his career back because he dam well deserves. Absolute trooper

I remember his comeback game against wolves; I told everybody I knew to watch it and after 5 minutes I cried you know; It was tough even watching it let alone how he felt.

I hope he plays again I don't mind which team he plays for and if he says he can play 40 games then I think it would be fantastic signing for someone like Arsenal!

I feel so sorry for Hargreaves and De La Red who's careers and plagued with injuries. Hargreaves could have easily become a great at United especially when he won the UCL in his first season and could have stopped Barca the next year. If it's true that Owen offered to play for free I have no idea why United couldn't keep him. His ability as DMF is the best in the premier league.

We have Leeds in the carling cup! we should teach them a lesson this time. Lancashire>yorkshire

“We had a couple of calls but I’m not going to sell Berbatov. No way. He’s first-class, the lad, I must say he’s been tremendous and never complained one bit."

Yeah, saw it on BBC some time ago. Was alright, although the son of Sir Matt Busby criticised it. I liked it, although the person who played Bobby Charlton was highly questionable.

I don't think either Carrick or Fletcher are going to be first choice now. Anderson has shown tremendous form. As for Cleverley, I think the main difference between him and Carrick is that when Carrick is under pressure he ***** his pants whereas when Cleverley is in tight areas, he has the ability to come out with the ball.

Cleverley's ability to come out with the ball when under pressure is almost Xavi'esque. I've seen Xavi come out with the ball and passing it to a teamate when he is under pressure so many times and I believe Cleverley has that ability.

One of the great attribute of Cleverley is he can dribble past player which helps to maintain possession under pressure. Him and Anderson have that ability. Loving the way we are playing..

loving the start to the season, Anderson is slowly turning into the player I have always known he was and the introduction of Cleverley and Smalling at Rb has been phenomenal, Jones looks like he has been playing Cb for years and years, Evans is still the weakest link in the team though! If he could keep concentration for the entire 90 min, he will be a great player, but year after year he has shown that he cannot and I think he should be subbed/benched when Ferdiand or Vidic come back 100%

as for Rooney, Welbeack and Young, Capello must have one **** of a hard on! Fantastic link up play and great football to watch, England fans as a whole should be excited :) not really Arsenal fans (well not yet anyway, still licking their wounds)

Man Utd vs Man City is going to be nuclear!!

The thing with Cleverley though is that he usually takes the ball past players/ dribbles in tight situations when under pressure in our own half or when it becomes a necessity. I think he just needs that little bit of confidence/ push to start taking players on in the opposition half, especially closer to the box.
Maybe he is instructed to play that way and be more restrained as we already have Anderson making those runs from midfield.

Also looking forward to Wellbeck improving with the ball, once that happens we are gonna be awesomer.

I have seen him dribbling past players in the other half and he keeps it simple. Beat a man, pass and move. In the community shield, the 2nd goal we scored, his first touch and small dribble beat De Jong then he passed the ball.

With games under his belt I think we can see him making more of those dribbles. I just love the way he plays.

Shame Pearce played him as RW.

Thats what I love about him, he plays in a way that isn't flashy and still is very effective.
He looks like a player who would easily fit in the Barcelona team of today.
The United players should look to pass the ball to him a little more, maybe later in the season they will be more confident about him as a player.

Apparently welbeck is out for 5 weeks! F*** me! That's why we have 7 strikers I guess!

Good news is we have international break so 2 weeks there wont be any club football. He will miss 2-3 weeks at max.

Anyone know where can I get Gary Neville's book? Looks like a good read.
