The Manchester United Thread

Glad im not the only one who sees that. Still have an issue in central mid. worried before the start about an injury to cleverley, and now he's out till the new year. Must sign a mobile intelligent central mid in jan

I'd love for us to go all out for Schweinsteiger, think the time to do it was summer though. Now Bayern are playing so well again, it's difficult to see him even considering leaving the club now. I think we'll survive with Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs, Anderson, Cleverley and Gibson until summer though, unless someone becomes available at a knockdown price.

Not saying he's the immediate competition. I'm saying give him time in the league while Evra's form is bad and Fabio is (still) injured AND THEN he could progress to being the competition. I never said he was competition right now for the left-back spot.

I don't think he's mufc quality. He hasn't shown anything to suggest he is really tbh. That one goal. He's a good finisher when given a chance, but his link up play, dribbling, strength etc all below par. Just being able to finish doesn't mean you're good enough these days. Don't think he's United quality but think he'd do well at a team lower in the division like Bolton/WBA/West Ham.

Again, 20. You talk as if he is the finished product. still developing. Getting rid of him now is short sighted. Players develop at different paces, his link up play is good, but needs to work on his dribbling.

We cant just be surviving, thats the problem, not if city keep up the pace. Ando is also injured for 2 months. giggs isnt going to be playing 30+ games. that is a chronic lack of guile in midfield, which makes us predictable becuase we will have to attack down the flanks.

And thats before we talk about CL. Missed a trick with Vidal, would love Javi Martinez. very intelligent player, attacking and defending, excellent in possession. plays with a head 10 years older than his age

you seem to suggesting Jack Rodwell a lot, do you want him to go?! :P

Good god no way lol. But as mentioned a few times, feel he'd be a very good fit for Utd.

I'm surprised he didn't go out on loan this season to be honest. His loan experience was terrible last season though, so maybe it was best to keep him at the club for the first half of the season and he'll be loaned out in Jan. I'm sure there will be plenty of suitors, both from the championship and premiership

I know what you mean, just love the way you bring it up all the time ;)

Fergie won't be overly concerned with the loss. He expected to win with that lineup but won't be too upset he didn't. As previously said giving experience to youngsters and match time for first teamers is the bigger concern

But Anderson is out until February, Giggs is too old to be a regular fixture in the side, and Cleverley is out until the New year. Plus with Anderson losing form, there's only Giggs and Cleverley there to provide creativity from the middle, and that's an awful lot of pressure on a debut season and a 38 year old.

Thing is when you support Everton, and you develop great youth players-we're faced with the inevitable fact they'll leave for bigger clubs cause we need the money. And good luck to them-they seem to flourish even more

The reason he didnt go on loan was becuase of the fiasco at Sampdoria. SAF was fuming after that. He said in a conference he wouldnt send him on till jan at the earliest, if at all

Yeah, both very good players, and young enough to mould into United's own style and character. I just think that by mid January we'll be getting players back to fitness and all will not look so bleak. We're definitely still missing a CM, just don't think Jan will be the time we buy

I dont think we will have a choice tbh, but City have a tough month ahead so we will see. Thing is, if it wasnt for City i'd agree with you that we could get away with it

will have to take into account that this city form won't last forever. At some point in the season they will start to struggle a little as all teams do, especially if they get into the next round of Champions league. Also it's an inexperienced side when it comes to Premier league wins which will work to United's advantage. I see your concern about the CM but right now I would still say United are favourites for the title

Going along with Jaks line of thinking. For all we know, City may have an Arsenal and lose out on the title, as they haven't been in this situation before, and if things start to go badly, they could implode. Remains to be seen if they have the mentality to keep it together.

vanjagl, dont be an utter numpty
Tbh, I would say 'go back to jungle' to every player, regardless of his skin color. But I guess I gone too far.
But Diuf was our worst player, not just tonight. Yea yea, he need match fitness. For god sake, he's playing against
mediocre(sorry) championship team and still, he sucks. Not a United caliber, he's a flop. Don't care, move on.
We needreal playmaker so badly. Modric or Banega please.
Oh, almost forgot. I had to google numpty. You could just say I write utter rubbish.
