The same Luke Shaw sat on the bench?

Useless signing both of them if you have no intention to play Rojo as a CB.

Ever heard of easing the player in? Just because he sat on the bench doesn't mean he is useless. Filipe Luis was on bench for first few games too.

We have no idea what role Rojo will play when Shaw starts. So for now we can just shut up rather than posting nonsense by assuming worst.

Blind is fine where he is. He patrols the midfield well with Ander Herrera. He was clearly becoming tiresome around the 65th minute mark. First touch was failing him, let the ball go past him. Herrera was more concerned about forcing the issue.

Shaw's debut will not be rushed, nor should it be, but once he does come back, it'll be a huge boost.

I did not follow Ajax too much, but i always saw Blind play LB. Shaw is LB. Rojo, same situation as Blind, saw him mostly play LB.

Blind is a DM, Rojo is a CB who is played as LB for Argentina.

Not assuming anything, it's a fact that even with Shaw and Rojo we're lacking a CB. Smalling and Jones are usually injured and that leaves us with Evans and Blackett.

van gaal should stand up commanding the players instead of sitting down doing noting

Rojo is a CB. Jones was having great time before getting injured. People always talk about defensive issues but we tried to address it by signing Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Herrera. Not a single top class CB was available except Benatia.

But Van Gaal bringing on Mata as a CM when we were under so much pressure was an awful decision. Luckily for us our rivals have been poor too but this can't go on much longer.

Cant really remember but were united in for Benatia? Strongest links seemed to be with city and Chelsea

Chelsea were hardly linked. Just media used Chelsea out of nowhere. There were strong rumors about United though.

We were, then Manchester City showed interest, settled with Mangala, and then Bayern arrived. There was also Stefan De Vrij before he headed off to Lazio.

Their were pretty strong links with Chelsea from what I remember but our quota issues prevented anything from happening

"You cannot say the defence was weak. You play like a team, Leicester showed that, we did not play like a team in the second half and that is not only defence. In a defensive situation the whole team is responsible, not just one defender."

Is the answer for the defensive problems.

Utter **** refereeing from Clattenburg. God, I was so irritated after the game, had he been anywhere near reaching distance, he'd only be half alive wondering what the heck happened by now. If he gets a game next weekend after this, I'll be utterly disappointed.

But that does not take away from our defensive frailties. Blackett is still a youngster, and is prone to making mistakes. He should have been slowly bedded in, not just thrown off the deep end. For the most part, Blackett has worked out, but he still makes mistakes frequently, and I'm not talking about just this match. And out of our remaining 4 CB, Evans and Jones are injury prone, Smalling is okayish at best, and Rojo clearly is a CB, not LB. I don't think I saw him take on his man even once :\

With Blackett out of the next game (screw you, Clattenburg), for heavens sake, put Rojo at CB and Shaw at LB. Also, I've said this a couple of weeks ago too, I believe, but if Jones is out injured, our defence will be pretty screwed.. We need to keep him fit, no matter what;;

Also,we need a leader at the back to organize defence (probably where we missed Evans today). Rooney cannot do that, and we needed that at 3-2, although even if we had Puyol, Clattenburg would still have won them the game. But we need an authoritative figure at the back. Please go nuts all for Hummels next season.
