Great block at the end from carrick and thank you lord de gea, loved watching mcnair, blackett and wilson all on pitch and celebrating rooney's goal.

Unlucky welbz, grass not always greener and all that.

I know Zzeezzy wants Wilson to start but he should not imo. But I think this season we are seeing the fazing out of RVP with Wilson getting game time nearly every game now. Which I thinks the right way to do it.

What a great show of fight and determination from United. Blocks, headers, tackles and clearances. Should have been 0-3 but di Maria tried to be to clever. Rvp again nowhere to be seen. Think Wilson deserves a run now with next 2 games at home. Hope falcao back soon. Think rvp days as 1st choice might be coming to an end. Hope this result will act as a springboard for the rest of season.

any news on shaw?

RVP will always be 1st choice this season onless Falcao stays fit or he gets injured. Wilson will never start ahead of RVP, but like I said in my last post with Wilson coming on for RVP nearly most games now I expect RVP to start getting fazed out ready for Wilson to be getting more game time next season.

Can't say great performance but given the circumstances it was really great win. Our whole back line was injured, not even single first choice player (not sure Smalling is or Jones is first choice), Blind, Falcao injured, Herrera not fully fit maybe. Playing with defense of 2 wingers and 2 reserve players who were not even CBs year and half ago.

Smalling was very good, De Gea brilliant. Loved that Rooney goal, Di Maria should have made it 3-0.

Smalling was class today. I don't care what anyone says he is a good defender, just not a ball player.

Smalling is very good defender if he can stay focused. I'm willing to bet he's a bit of a late bloomer, he'll show consistency when he gets just a little bit more older. He started playing on top level relatively old, that plays some factor in his lack of consistency. If he can find it and Jones can stay fit, United has defenders for next 5-6 years.

Are we all talking about the same guy here? The one who got sent off a few weeks ago in the Manchester Derby?

Robin van Persie completed just two passes vs. Arsenal today, one of which was from kick off in the first half.

That stat is horrendous.

The only pass I can remember is the one where he received the pass in the box, surrounded by 3 Arsenal players so he passed it back to Valencia and from there to De Gea.

He can be rash no doubt, but he can also be ****** good on his day, today he had one of them really good days (if what other people are saying is to go by as I missed second half).

Problem with Smalling and Jones is their consistency, if they get that part right, they are two ****** good defenders no doubt about it. Problem is they lack consistency in way too many games, but the constant injuries don't help them either.

I missed all the second half and just come back from a meal out with the family, really happy with the 3 pts and didn't expect it at all after watching the first half so was pleasantly surprised.

Good to see Rooney and Di Maria have good games, RVP wank as usual according to most but really happy with this result considering the amount of injuries we have, just hope Shaw's isn't too bad.

Shaw was seen leaving with boot on. But LVG said just precaution for now but will need scan.

Smalling is not rash at all, he rarely picks up yellow cards and makes bad fouls. Jones is rash, Vidic is but Smalling and Rio aren't.

I'm sorry but Smalling is rash at times, if he wasn't then please explain that second yellow against City.

Out of character. Every defender makes those stupid mistakes, doesn't make every defender rash.
