We have nobody good enough on the ball to hold up play and actually lay it on for the attackers. And this formation doesn't allow for that much too, too many gaps in order to do so.

Its so obvious that we don't have CBs who are good on the ball yet Van Gaal somehow is playing a system which required CBs with skill on the ball and ability to play from the back. Getting tiresome and bit worrying for United fans.

It doesn't suit our players. Evans who was decent CB looks absolutely clueless in this system, same with all CBs.

Mancini tried this and paid price when they dropped silly points, then he switched to back 4 and eventually got sacked.

Rafael and Shaw are not wingbacks, they are good with overlapping runs. They can't attack on their own.

Best wingbacks are wingers. That's why Young is doing well. He's tricky enough to be threat in offense, he's disciplined enough to not be considered liability when defending. Rafael and Shaw are both attacking minded fullbacks, however, they don't have that flair in them to dribble past their man constantly.

That's why they are poor wing backs. They can't attack like wingers. Its like we are poor attacking from middle and also from wings. Not sure what's the point of this **** tactic.

Yeah, pretty much what happened with us. Way too many gaps, so players trying for longer passes to connect, which is not happening properly due to some good pressing by Yeovil..

Is it the system that Fletcher is ****? Is it he system that Blackett has no ergency as a player? Think people use this to much, when we cant even do the basics.

I know. It doesn't change the fact that at this moment, he's not good enough. Maybe in a couple of weeks we can see some improvement.

Neither Blackett nor McNair are Ball Playing Defenders. Blackett has been making mistakes even at the start of the season, think he needs a loan move to a PL club for a season to properly develop. McNair has been a bit staggered after the head-crash. Also, lack of movement and proper understanding in the team is leading to long range passes..
