The Manchester United Thread

We're due a defeat and everton can behave with their current form a win their would be nice next week.

Welcome to the league of Chelsea. Where they defend for the whole first half, and then score. I really like their playstyle, it's rare to see it anymore.

Well thats the Mourinho tactics. Letting us have the ball but its really Chelsea who are "controlling" the match. Chelski tactics working well: Fellaini negated and making it difficult for us to wing it by forcing us go through the middle.

**** myself when di Maria fell in the box right at the end. Utd gave it a good go on another day could of got something but that was just a typical mourinho 1-0 win.

What a boring game of football.

That Terry block on Di Maria epitomizes everything that I love about proper english defenders. Happy with Shaw in a back four and Smalling was exceptional again. Di Maria and Januzaj showed why they aren't getting games at the minute, far too wasteful with possession.

Di Maria did create a few chances that could easily of got us a goal on another day for the brief time he was on though.

I like the way team is shaping up. Away game against soon to be champions and we recorded 70% possession and double the shots on goal.

Smalling is brilliant, such composure. I wouldn't swamp him for any CB in the league. Also easy to see why we paid so much for Shaw. Brilliant LB. McNair hardly played in last few months and he played like a midfielder.

Chelsea goal was unlucky, looked like a foul on Falcao but apart from that we controlled the game and played the game in their half.

Well if we look at it calmly then:

1. We didnt play badly. Against almost any other team in the world we would ve been more effective.
2. Thats why Mourinho is the best manager in the world. You may not like it cos it aint pretty (though I DO find it beautiful in its own way) but it gets results. He just doesnt lose big matches. He may draw the odd one (PSG home) but he rarely loses them.
3. Seeing them both on the same pitch I still cant understand why we didnt go for FABREGAS instead of ANDER.
4. The Blackett-Shaw change didnt make sense (unless it was a fitness thing). He was a constant threat (ok he should work more on his crosses) and can properly overlap. Blackett time and again showed he cant.
5. That was a CLEAR peno!!!

Are you kidding me? I thought Herrera had a much bigger impact on this game than Fabregas who was pretty much non-existent for most of the game. Sorry dunno what you were watching.

Without considering how good Herrera has been this season especially second half of the season.

Herrera was playing as a DM, Fabregas was hardly in the game.
