The Manchester United Thread

Easiest game of the season by far. Was so comfortable throughout and we probably could have helped out goal difference a bit more. Called Berbatov and Hernandez to score too...

Joint top with a struggling Chelsea to come on Sunday - BRING IT ON!

Well, I'll be. Darron Gibson has made me happy. And there's pigs flying outside too. What a strange day.

Passes: Carrick 129/139, Scholes 113/126, Evans. 96/106

Good to see Evans getting involved so much. He was very composed but Scholes once again showed what a great player he is still at 37.

The good thing is aswell apart from Gibson  scoring and getting us the win....it's now pretty much a 3 horse race for the title. Spurs won't have a better chance to take advantage, and same for Utd. It's going to be a corker of a battle.

Carrick playing well lately.

Good to see. I remember arguing that Carrick was United's best midfielder a while back, with Andy I think, and getting shot down.

Cole out against us. Valencia tore him a new one last season, can't wait to see what he does against whoever they play there when he's in this sort of scintillating form.

I hope you guys win that match. We're unlikely to broach the gap between both Manchester teams, so solidifying 3rd/4th is the priority.

Keep Chelsea at bay gents.

Ferguson is a cheeky, cheeky manager! What a way to send a message to morrison;playing pogba on the day he left the club and also to Pogba that if you're patient enough you'll get your chance!

I think it has more to do with our injuries. Fletcher, Anderson, Cleverly and Young all injured from midfield. Pogba was always going to be on the bench for this game.

Valencia said:
"I do not want to move from Manchester I am very happy and so I separated from Diego (Herrera) as there is much work to do,

Awesome. Wish we had few more of his type.

Four could return for Chelsea

Sir Alex Ferguson delivered some good news on Friday morning when he revealed that four of United’s injured players could be back in the squad to face Chelsea.

The Reds boss hopes to name Wayne Rooney, Nani, Tom Cleverley and Ashley Young in his party to face the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Rooney and Nani have both been missing with foot injuries since the win over Arsenal, Young hasn’t played since the end of December and Cleverley has been out of action since the win at Everton in October.

“We’re a bit better in terms of injuries,” Sir Alex said at his Friday press conference. “We hope Wayne Rooney, Nani, Tom Cleverley and Ashley Young will all be in the squad.

“It’s more likely Tom will play against Chelsea Reserves on Monday, but he'll travel. Rooney and Nani have trained for the last two days.”

The news is less positive on injured goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, though David De Gea should be fit after missing the midweek win over Stoke.

“It looks like Lindegaard will be out for at least four weeks, maybe five to six, with ankle ligament damage,” Sir Alex added.

“We don't know what his recovery from injuries is like, so we'll have to wait and see, but I would have thought at least four weeks.”

Good to see Rooney, Nani back on Sunday and Cleverley back in training. Back to the free flowing football please. Shame about Lindegaard's injury. We missed GK for our injured team and he is injured now. What a great luck we are having on injury front.

Nice to see Tom is back! He has shown brilliant maturity in such less time! We're a completely different team when he's playing; our build play with him is twice as much as it is without him!

I don't think we've really had a Cleverley-type midfielder before. It's why his early games were so promising. He's a proper pass-and-move midfielder who carries the ball well, got great energy, and focuses on short, quick passes to drive the tempo of a match up. In the spanish mould of midfielders, one might say.

I think he has much more of a goal threat about him than he showed early on, as well.

great read no dout the future is bright , exciting times at uniited with youngsters around no dout think keane is underated in fm:(

What is actually good thing about the likes of will and michael keane and ryan tunnicliffe is their attitude towards game and towards club! It is totally opposite from morrison's! I think attitude is very important for e.g- SAF always said that Gary Neville wasn't the most technically gifted player but he had a great attitude and he probably became one of the greatest right backs of all time! I have huge hopes from youngsters as there is nothing better than to a see your own academy player becoming one of the best!
