The Manchester United Thread

:D

I grew up talking about football with my mates and the conversation would go something like this...
"We are supposed to be buying Costa Fortune"
"Really?? Is He any good?"
"Yeah, He's alright".

Nowadays...
"We are supposed to be buying Costa Fortune"

"Really? Is He any good?"

"Well... He has good distribution and potential if we utilize him in a flat back one with inside wingers, alternating with the outer center backs in a pseudo diamond formation, but he will only be effective if we use Scaldy McBalls as a 2nd striker, running off him in unilateral patterns"

Everybody is a poxy punter these days and it's boring.

This is the best post I've read on this site ever, take a bow son!

We all do it now and again, but some do it allllll the time

First real test coming up the next fortnight. First a tough away in South Wales Sunday.

Then the BIG one a week the following Sat'day.

Frustrating there's a break so early in the year before we play each other.

No need to worry about that one! Couldn't resist, sorry! ;)

100% agreed. There are many here who follow this pattern. You just name a Romanian 2nd division player, people are experts about his strength and weakness.

See, apart from the odd pseudo knowledge that people seem to have about players, I don't think we get any of that here any more. Outside of Mike desperately trying to get people into more involved discussions, it's all basically "this is good, this is bad, I'm going to overreact to some silly statement and drag it out into a 5 page argument now." A few years ago I would have expected to see people here discussing how Fabregas' lack of positional discipline often gives Matic too much ground to cover and leaves Chelsea's fullbacks exposed if they choose to go forward, and how that tends to leave Hazard isolated on the left and the right in a state of vulnerability with Brana bombing up the pitch. Instead people seem scared to actually develop an opinion deeper than Ozil=lazy, Sanchez=good, where's our DM Wenger?

You mean Razvan Trandu for ACS Poli Timisorara?? Classic workhorse central midfielder. Sadly hasn't captured his goal scoring form since the 12/13 season where he banged in 6

You watched him play?

Yeah...tbh...I was just happy because it would put off the mane transfer but, in truth, he's basically a younger nani...

Good with both feet.. great dribbling ability, nice long range shooter, good crosses but just inconsistent

So are we signing a forward and/or CB? or we just going to be stuck with chico and rojo/mcnair when smalling and wayne get injured.

No idea. Only people that know are the people that need to know. The Media doesn't know ****, therefore we don't know ****.

Hopefully this south american if we sign him stays fairly slim and doesn't turn into another chubby ******.

If Mane was playing in other league maybe you would have liked him ;)

I'd honestly still have berahino but west brom are probably holding out for an insane amount that he isn't worth.

I'm liking how some clubs aren't getting bullied by the bigger clubs as much it seems, it'll only get more and more so like this when the big tv money finally kicks in and everyone gets richer.

I'd like a rather more traditional number 9 over a winger who may or may not do the job.

It's impossible to sign a player from league without overpaying. I mean players club wants to retain.

I'd go for Berahino and offer them a season-long loan for Wilson... win win then.

I'd doubt he'd get much game time tbh, they've got a fair bit of forwards.

Maybe, Lambert is totally different type though and Wilson would be more of a close replacement to Berahino than anyone else they could probably get at this stage. Rondon is good as well so it wouldn't be easy but I reckon he'd get more chance there than he will here this season.

Have they still got anichebe and ideye? obviously wilson will get games if they leave or one does. Tough for young strikers going out on loan these days especially to prem sides as many don't play with two up top and i can't see wilson leading the line for a prem side yet.

A top champ team might do him a world of good like bamford at boro last season.
