The Manchester United Thread

Latest: Monaco want Marcos Rojo and €60m to sell Anthony Martial to Manchester United, according to Le Parisien http://j.mp/DeadlineDay2015

Anyone who agrees to that needs immediate firing. I'd rather have just Rooney and Wilson.

Anyways, I'm increasingly puzzled by Van Gaal's approach to strikers. The club went from what seemed like the best striker depth in the world, to declining Shrek and a youngster, in 12 months. Something doesn't add up here.

At this point I can't help but wonder if the whole problem isn't due to people not being used to their strengths to fit the "philosophy". Certainly seems to be the case with both Rooney and Hernandez.

Martial!! what a name. We should sign him just for his name sake.

Are both Manchester clubs having a ******* contest to see who can overpay the most this window?

Can't fault City. You have to pay price for top talent or you lose out. Simple as that. Bargains are exceptions than rule.

Indeed - City made a number of purchases all of which are game changers (bar maybe the useful - in Brit quotas if anything- Delph).

Best summer/transfer deals by a mile.

Yeah, not only City it's for any club. You want top player? You pay the top dollar. Simple as that, especially for younger players who have many years to contribute.

DDG for some cash and Nevas? With the way he performed the other night, probably best deal we could hope for.

Martial? Rapid speed, great technique, good heading, so an excellent complete forward. The only reason why it hurts when I pee is that whoever we sign and if his first name isn't Zlatan, will definitely sit on the bench (or will be played out of position) behind the misfiring Rooney. And to see (an 50 million) this young prodigy's potential fading away on the bench, or to be subbed in around the 70th minute would hurt more than the pee.

Btw, Manchester United: a monacói csatár már beleegyezett a váltásba - N - according to this pretty reliable Hungarian source, Martial and United are agreed on contract terms and indeed final fee to be around 50 million euros.

City have done good business, no doubt, but I still question whether they can get the best out of Silva and De Bruyne in the same team. I guess time shall tell.

Infact the transfer window closes in all of europe today.... it's now or never.

That's just England though that will still be open tomorrow, which is useless for us.

[h=3]Is that the same across Europe?[/h]
No it is not. France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Holland's closes on Monday 31 August at 23:59. The Dutch summer transfer window tends to open in the second week of June. The Portuguese transfer window stays open until 22 September. The mavericks.

Bar getting robbed blind on Sterling but no need to revisit that again.
