But is it the players or the managers tactics? Not much better than moyes looking at games eon

You really have short term memory if you think it's anywhere comparable to Moyes season.

All those cowardly tactics against top 6-7 teams and getting raped in every game. Losing 3-0 twice against City and Liverpool, 4-1 vs City away, 3-1 Chelsea away :puke:

Nothing wrong with tactics or team selected, we just didn't convert our dominance into goals.

Please don't even bring up the Moyes and LVG debate.
Just asking the question. We always dominate teams with pass pass pass, is that the right tactic? Is that what United fans want? Is that going to get us back to the top? It's unlikely

100x this.

Can anyone explain to me why he split the Smalling-Blind partnership up to put Rojo in who is equally if not better then Blind at playing left back? The Smalling-Blind partnership and how its worked has been one of the few highlights so far. To disrupt that for a player that hasnt played a minute, and could just as easily played left back doesnt make much sense to me.

For the second goal, Rojo turned his back on the goalscorer and left him. Blind was screaming at him pointing and in the end had to leave his man at the back post to try and get as quickly to the goalscorer as possible but couldnt get there in time. Very poor tactically there from LVG moving Blind for Rojo.

Darmian should have done better for the first goal. He should never hae got that header off. But he's been good so cant complain too much. In general play he's excellent but looks very dodgy at set plays. Always seems to be bear-hugging his man and if the Premier League ref's get on to this he'll be a penalty waiting to happen.

Martial impressed me with his hold-up play and his link-ups with Memphis. I'll reserve my judgment on him being the second coming a bit longer, because the things he did tonight, I couldnt help but think Welbeck would have done the same job (good hold up play. Laying it off and spinning his man etc).

Need a good win now against the Saints and kick on. Not a fan of this passing it across the box from right-to-left, left-to-right, till your tackled **** but surely something has got to click soon.

I was really puzzled by this as well.

That wasn't why we lost though. One Corner that was deflected by own goal, and then one counter attack where Darmian gave the ball away. The only thing you can say is that Blind should of been closer for the 2nd goal.

Luke Shaw has a double fracture. Is having surgery tomorrow.

No I've not got a short term memory, the moyes era was shocking. Just saying lvg's record is not much better and we are poor to watch. With the money he has spent should we be demanding more? Yes!, are United improving? Debatable. I just don't see lvg as the man to restore United back to the top. I hope I'm wrong but there have been few signs of improvement. We did get top 4, just, but it was a poor prem season for quality. I think we will finish 3/4 this season as city, arsenal are better than us.

How can u blame blind for the second. Blind was covering the player on the right coming in at the back. Rojo turned his back on the player between him and blind. Blind was shouting and screaming and pointing at the man but rojo turned his back and ran. Blind had to leave his man to get the player rojo turned his back on and it was him that scored

We played well in attacking sense and created chances though.

You're not scoring team goals, though. They're only coming from either a set piece or individual moment of brilliance (dribble, long shot etc). So something definitely isn't working.

Because he see's him run ahead, he should be covering that player. That's his job. It's the back post. He was covering him when Darmian lost the ball, and then lets the player run ahead of him and goes to cover someone else. Sure he's shouting and screaming and pointing that there's a player behind Rojo, but Rojo can't exactly take his eye of the ball to turn around, see where the player is, move into position and then find the ball again.

So blind can mark 2 men on his own? Blind was left back and was covering the player at the back post. Rojo left his man allowing him to run in behind. Rojo couldn't see him because he left him and had his back to him and blind had to try to cover but couldn't get there in time

And you think Rojo should just leave the middle of the box, and leave a huge gap for the player blind was covering to just dash in and get a free head on goal anyways? Blind should of been sprinting to catch up to the goalscorer to stop him getting a free header. The guy he was covering would of been covered by Rojo if the ball went near him.

Rojo knew full well there was 2 men on his and Blinds side so why turn your back and leave Blind to mark the 2 men? If he actually looked instead of turning and just running into space. In the initial play, the goalscorer is near Blind with another player more central. As the attack progresses and the ball is put through, the man that Blind was inistially marking and the player more central cross paths. The goalscorer moves into Rojo's area of the pitch.

Anyway, **** that. Why was Rojo so deep to begin with? Blind and Smalling was holding a nice line and Rojo is almost 10 yards deeper. Like I said, stupid choice by LVG to split Smalling and Blind up.

It's not Blind's mistake. ManUtd were in possession and were charging forward,, full backs push higher but Darmian missed pass means whole defense was out of position and there is no way Blind can go back and be in that position.

Also can't fault Rojo, sometimes you have to give credit for the attackers, that was a peach of a delivery.

Is it his fibula?

Yep, it is. A double fracture, out until March, April at least.

I just couldn't really get yesterday's scenes out of my head...that tackle and the expression on Moreno's face after he saw what he did. Shivering.
