The Manchester United Thread

Fabio was very unlucky that he had Evra in his position who was genetically freak of a nature.

Both would have been first choice for us if not for injury problems. When you watch Darmian, can't help but miss Rafael.
I think Darmian is still a good RB and will be much more consistent next season. His early season form was very good. But do to injury and lack of form he has struggled. I think he is just a case of Evra his first season was terrible.

My mate was at the game and he said there was loads of people outside struggling to give away there's spare tickets and one bloke could only sell his for 5 pounds. Shame really but can understand some fans frustrations.

Good that this is happening. ManUtd fans supported him when any big club fans would have booed from day 1. He was supported even when he was losing, only this season after so many **** performance fans decided enough is enough. Can't believe he is seeing out the season.

At least this will force owners to make decision.

Not saying Darmian is bad or anything close to that. Liked how he played at the start of the season but Rafael offered lot going forward which i miss, also the passion and fighting spirit he showed every game.

Absolutely understand the match going fans frustrations. This has been building for a good whiles now with the boring, ***** football. Results, even back into last season, only mask so much and when you're paying good money after bad to be bored shitless week after week those 'ends justifying the means results' wear thin VERY quickly. Suffered through that conundrum under Rafa to the point I just completely fell out of love with a game I was getting absolutely zero enjoyment from but that's for another thread.

Just real surprising to see loads of empty's at Utd as regards the nature of the club success, no less in this era. There's generally always some day-tripper just so happy to be able to get in that will take the ticket regardless. Even midweek against garbage like Palace.

Just encapsulates the Van Gaal era and just how horribly boring the football has become when that's no longer the case.

But like we discussed the other day, on the plus side, if there's one thing that will definitely make the Americans act and remove any doubt on him it's the brand being hit. They might still be putting it out as a full house on tickets sold, but pictures of lots of empty red seats down to the stay aways certainly won't of gone unnoticed over in the States.

jOURNAL DE NOTICIAS have said the deal is done. They USUALLY do not bullshit.

José Mourinho vai treinar o Manchester United a partir da próxima época depois de se ter comprometido com o clube inglês no final do último ano, quando rescindiu contrato com o Chelsea.

Translation here -
Jose Mourinho will coach Manchester United from next season after having committed to the English club at the end of last year, when parted company with Chelsea .

More here-

Jos

The deal to all intents and purposes may well be done.

But I call utter B/S on him committing to Utd after he left Chelsea.

I also feel it's done. I have no idea if this article is true but I've spoken with a few Portugese fans on other Forums and they all claim that paper is as reliable as your gonna get when it comes to big sports articles/news.

Sports Witness report on the article: Jornal de Noticias is one of Portugal's biggest newspapers, and it's not restricted to sport. Therefore for them to have Jose Mourinho splashed across their front page on Saturday means they think they've got a big story.

With a headline reading 'Jose Mourinho has signed for Manchester (United)', Jornal de Noticias get straight to the point. The article isn't available online and it isn't in their e-paper edition, only in a supplement inside the newspaper.

A little digging and we've found out the claims are: Mourinho has signed, he's been watching Manchester United matches to get an idea of the current squad and deficiencies in it, and he'll have full power on transfers, with the newspaper also pointing out he may well recruit some players from the Portuguese league.

Apparently Ballague is also saying Mou is done deal now. And he has been in serious talks with Faria due to targets for next season.

This is a post from someone who I have talked to on another Utd Forum who is Portugese and knows someone who works at the paper: Jornal de Notícias is reliable and has links to Eládio Paramés who is Mourinho's media rep. Get ready for Mou

My postman told me, and he saw it on the radio, so its gotta be happening.

Everton starting XI (to play @ManUtd): Joel, Baines, Gibson, Stones, Jagielka (c), Lukaku, Lennon, Cleverley, McCarthy, Besic, Barkley.
Everton substitutes: Howard, Hibbert, Oviedo, Mirallas, Deulofeu, Osman, Pennington

Gibson playing in defence it seems.

Quick question...what do united fans see in lingard? He anticipates chances really well but he can't finish so it's as good as nothing..His dribbling is average...his passing is average...his pace is average...he's faster than rooney but slower than martial/memphis/shaw/valencia

I actually rate Lingard tbh yes he can be wasteful at times but he is quicker than he looks and commits players which creates space for others. I'm not saying he should be a starter but defo good enough for a squad player!
