dont think you could afford both?

Yes. £25m and £35m roughly. Rumours suggest Fergie has around £50m to spend. Sales of Brown, Kuszczak, possible Gibson etc will fund it

Need young more than henderson.

dont want either though

I'd be quite content with either to be honest. It sounds as though Brown and Gibson will leave, as well as losing Neville and Scholes. Our home grown quota will soon be stretched, and although with have some decent young players like Evans, Morrison, Welbeck & Cleverly, it's unclear how soon they can progress to first team standard. I think Young is a bit underrated on this forum, if he can find some form and consistency, he could be a real weapon. £18m does seem a lot though for a player with a year left of his contract

a lot more that 50m, but only spent if needed. Sneijder would be close to 40m, if not over

I'd use Nani as bait for Sneijder then bring Young in as cover. Apart from set pieces I don't see Young improving on Nani/Valencia

Yea anytime the anti-Glazer campaigns start we often hear of a supposed £100m sitting in the bank. Time to right some cheques. We'll not win the league next year with this squad and it will be Fergie last great team so let's hope he gets its right

the figures actually show there is £113m in the bank, rising to 160m by end of summer

**** Young then............ Get Ronaldo back (6)(6)(6)

lol, it'll be spent on an as needed basis though

varane
de gea

thats 24 rising to 27m there.

Luka would cost between 25-35 m
Young 14-16m

Don't particularly want Sneijder, much rather have Modric. Definitely wouldn't want both.

Glad to see Henderson joining Liverpool.

... and Sneijder hopefully :P

We should have got him when he left Real. 15m or so he went for.

What's your take on Lass Diarra. Yes or No? I'd like him if the price is right. Feel we need another 'hardman' in midfield. De Rossi is another one who seems to be having contract problems at Roma.

My wet dream team on 1 Sep 2011

De Gea

Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra

De Rossi/Diarra Modric

Valencia Sneijder Rooney

Chicharito
Unlikely I know but I can but dream.

Bit of a bizarre team considering Rooney's excellence in the centre and rather a surplus of stationary creative players with both Sneijder AND Modric. Remove Sneijder, move Rooney to the centre, use the Sneijder money on a brilliant LWer (Ribery?) and that would be a team to be truly feared.

i'd like lass, but not becuase hes a hardman, but because hes a very mobile hardman, him and modric would allow and aggressive pressure defense. Imagine a midfield of Park, Diarra, Rooney, Modric, Valencia all closing up the midfield for the ball they would track all day and then break on you

Ribery one of the most overrated players in world football in my opinion. Though he has a long way to go to displace Zlatan. Ugh, by God, he makes me want to vomit. Such talent yet such a waste of space

Nani and cash for Sneijder, no way. Nani is great on both wings, and we have Valencia on right. I would rather have Antonio on right than any other RWer. Modric, ( Adler please) De Gea, and maybe Sanchez and we're good. Varane for the future and I would love to see Lass ( I've been telling that for a ages now) in United.

I would never ever want Diarra at United. He moans a lot, no wonder he has moved from Chelsea, Arsenal and now asking for a move from Madrid. At United we need players who are happy with rotation, not the one who moans about it. Fletcher can do anything that Diarra can..

Except run. Diarra is a good little player - I'd really like him back at Arsenal tbph. As Mike. says, he's very mobile and won't stop running. I prefer Alex Song because he offers more IMO but Lass could be a very useful player providing he's happy being 2nd choice. TBH - he's going to have to do some really good searching if he wants to be first choice at a big club. Most big clubs already have a destroyer or two... Although surely the signing of Sahin marks the end for him?

Thats not gonna happen and the reason why I dont want him at United. Fletcher provides the same work rate though...
