The Manchester United Thread

No chance it's **** he's spoken highly of Mourinho in most his interviews on MUTV and have regular meetings and communication. Scholes can say what he likes he's a pundit and gets paid to say his opinions. Giggs if different he had an axe to grind as he was most likely told in the near future after Fergie retired that he would get the job. But after the decline in the last few years the club could simply not take a risk in giving him the job.
The perfect way to put people off the scent praise publicly, backstab anonomously.

Really hope Northampton- Utd doesn't go extra time tonight or further.

The draw is getting later and later by the round after all the Sky pontificating has gone on.

Its a bit of genius play by the media team, now everyone is looking for "the leak" and not a crying shaw/****** off Mou.

^ Rooney starting up top, don't judge him on how he's played this season (in midfield), judge him tonight in his position. Let's see if he's "done".

Rooney up top WTF lmao! Happy TFM getting a start. Rojo gonna be the usuall mistakes filled performance I'm sure. Happy with the rest of the team.

Fancy Ander Herrera to have a massive game tonight, no Pogba, and Schneiderlin + Carrick will give him the license to bomb forward & get involved in the final third. I also wouldn't rule him out taking the penalty if we were to be awarded one.

It's very rare he has a bad game TBH. But will likely be dropped for Fellaini against Leicester and Pogba will come back in. Hope Memphis and TFM play well. Can't believe Rooney starting ahead of Rashford!

Mutv actually predicted Rooney to lead the line all day oddly enough, so I wasn't surprised if that makes sense

These cup games are as good a chance of any to get Rooney over the line of Sir Bobby's record

Apologies to the fella I corrected regarding the Rooney/Bobby Charlton goals stat; Wikipedia statistics can be deceiving at times, it is indeed 4 goals off breaking the record. Hopefully he can put himself on 247/248 tonight.

Now it really makes sense on Mourinho starting him up top, try and get that particular monkey off his back as early as possibly and it would make much it easier to drop him subsequently for system purposes

As soon as Carrick gets the ball, his first thoughts are; "Can I get this ball forward" - exactly why we need him in our regular first team.
