Have Man United Already Bought Valencia Full-Back Jordi Alba? | CaughtOffside
Valencia have sold Jordi
Alba, claims Emery
Former Valencia boss Unai
Emery has claimed that
the club have already sold
left-back Jordi Alba.
However, in discussing his
time at Mestalla in an
interview with Onda Cero,
Emery has claimed that
Alba has already parted
company with Los Che.
“Valencia is a team that
buys players who are not
the finished article and
then, when they are
finished, possibly sells
them on, as has happened
with Jordi Alba,” the 40-
year-old coach mused.
Barca have reportedly
identified the versatile
Alba as the ideal
replacement for Eric
Abidal, who has been
ruled out of action for an
indefinite period of time
after undergoing a liver
transplant.
However, Manchester
United and AC Milan are
also believed to be
interested in the
Blaugrana youth academy
product, who is just as
comfortable on the wing
as he is in defence.

Sir Alex Ferguson is one of
three managers said to be
closing in on Valencia full-
back Jordi Alba, with most
sources believing that the
Old Trafford boss sees the
Spanish international as the
man to keep Patrice Evra on
his toes and perhaps act as a
long term replacement for
the 31 year old Man United
left-back, and now former
Mestalla boss Unai Emery has
let the cat out of the bag
stating that the player has
been sold.
So where has he gone? Man
United may well edge AC
Milan for the services of the
23 year old defender but
perhaps Barcelona are in
prime position to nab the
consistent La Liga performer.
New Nou Camp boss Tito
Vilanova may see Alba as a
long term successor to Eric
Abidal as back-up performer
Adriano has not been all that
impressive when called upon.
Valencia have become a
‘selling-club’ in recent years
with the likes of David Silva,
Juan Mata, Raul Albiol and
David Villa all leaving over
the past few seasons
