The Manchester United Thread

I reckon Bebe will be sold, and Macheda will probably be loaned out somewhere to help give him more first-team experience. Can't see either of them being involved in the first-team for United next season. No need for Bebe with Young, Nani, Valencia being able to play down the wings, and we already have Welbeck, Rooney and Chicharito so where would Macheda fit. Plus with the signings of Hazard/Kagawa being rumoured, I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of the 'fringe players' being sold.
Yeah read on mufc official site when macheda returned from qpr injured fergie saying he will stop with us next season and go on tour but not seen anything about bebe, and dont know how he has been doin on loan.

Surely we'd want one who can play CM though. Or do you think Kagawa is capable of that?

I think he may try and mould him to play the two roles, but I agree still need an MC.

After all, Modric started high and wide.

Although if we did sign Hazard and Kagawa, a central column of Rooney, Hazard and Kagawa is a frightening thought with their roaming ability and versatility.

Potential first team starting eleven next season (maybe):

----------------De Gea---------------

Rafael------Vidic------Ferdinand-------Evra

-----------Carrick-------Asamoah---------

Valencia----------Kagawa-------------Hazard

------------------Rooney-------------------

Imagine that :P Rooney is so much better in Kagawa's position (in the formation above) but I could not leave out Valencia. Asamoah would be a rock in that midfield, honestly if our first eleven ends up anything like this other teams will be scared.

I honestly dont know what our mid will be next season with giggs, scholes, carrick, anderson, cleverly, fletcher, pogba if stays and petrucci and tunnicliffe promoted thats alot of CM,s

Only Carrick and Cleverley should really be relied upon.

I think he is only half right. Right on the attacking mids and the full back. Not on a striker, since Keane and Petrucci are to be promoted. Fabio is under threat, hence the loan, but Rafael is set to stay, already rejected Chelsea's approach. Rafael has come an incredibly long way. Modric is also more likely than Moura, given that he will now again agitate for a move.

Not sure if Keane and Petrucci will see much more than Carling Cup football next season. Might not matter if Welbeck, Hernandez and Rooney stay fit of course but it is still a bit risky given our recent injury record to just have 3 main forwards with Owen and Berbatov going. Also, I doubt if we will be able to match Spurs' asking price for Modric.

Yeah agree still to early for likes of petrucci, tunnicliffe, pogba but must get game time imo, will most prob be scoles, giggs final season fletcher is a case of fingers crossed hope he gets back and i still have hope for ando plus will have powell if true.

Read article somewhere i think on mufc official site macheda will stop with us next season after recovers from injury.

If SAF has any plan of doing that, it is better we dont sign Kagawa and waste him imo. He is very good AM and should leave at it or atmost as winger like Giggs used to playing centrally/Winger.

Lewandowski Staying Put

I'm actually glad to read this, I don't think we need him and would much prefer to sign Kagawa.

I think SAF may be looking at players who can play in a fluid formation, players that can play in any of the attacking roles exactly like Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo did a few seasons back. The likes of Lewandowki, Hazard & Kagawa definitely fit this mould. He'll surely be looking at a well rounded CM too though?

Asamoah is your man then :P

Giggs has been terrible at CM second half of the season. There is no reason not to play Kagawa at MC if he ends up adaptable enough, doesnt stop him playing AMC when needed or at all, and it gives us back that much needed versatility.

I think Kagawa will indeed be playing in a Manchester United shirt next season. Would be a great signing according to me if it does indeed happen.

Also have the rumours about Javi Martinez died down?

Given the way we are bolstering the mid, formation will be a slightly more outright 4-2-3-1 than the one we are playing, so 3 strikers for one forward role, or the occasional 4-4-2, or even playing Rooney deep and one of the other two up top, with one of the younger two as 4th striker emergency cover is about right. Otherwise you end up with having a player of Dimi's quality spending too much time kicking about.

I do not think there was any real source to them, only player I have seen us linked with like that is 'you know who'.
