The Manchester United Thread

Please don't quote Duncan Castles on anything, scouse, the man is awful.....

Ack. He's the guy you've shown your disdain for before isn't he?

Soz. Forgot the name. But now I've noted him I won't put anything else from him in here.

He's awful. He's pretty much Mendes' go to for leaks. Extremely pro Jose. The squad doesn't need two windows to achieve a good finish, could do with removing certain players for sure, but enough to get the job done in the side, by that I mean top 3/4

Had him in FMs and was beastly but is he that good IRL?
Hes only young but is top quality and really impressed last season, playing like a player ahead of his years. So good at dictating tempo and also good at breaking up play. Not a DM or tough tackler by any means, but his reading of the game is class. Been a bit up and down this season, but you get that with young players. Will develop into a top top CM in a couple of years no doubt. We must be after him to replace Carrick!

Given our record with Dortmund players I wouldn't be so sure!

Love to know what's really going on with Metal Mickey and the manager. That's uber weird.

Weigls been very noticeable watching Dortmund for Pulisic this year. Don't think it's any coincidence he missed last night and they conceded 4 at home to a very poor Warsaw side.

Gladbachs Dahoud would be another very promising young controlling midfielder to consider from Germany. With a pittance of a reported release fee of £8 million kicking in next summer.

Hey, yeah, what's up with that ****. First Kagawa and now Miki, and the same **** happens too. They just don't play and nobody knows why.

David Moyes happened to Kagawa who suffered due to a change of manager. He was playing well at the end of Fergie last season and was gonna be Rooney replacement at 10. Fergie left then Moyes picked Rooney no matter what and sold Kagawa.

I'm guessing it's more of a safety net and that we are actively seeking reinforcements.

Read that earlier. Very strange why Utd would take up the option only 11 games in.

You'd think at his age they'd wait and see how he got through the rigours of a full English season before deciding anything. Don't get the rush there personally but Mourinho's obviously seen enough for him.

Personality is just as important. He's as good a leader as any, excellent to have off the pitch and he is in great condition.
If I were Rooney i'd be a little worried

Yeah was thinking the same. Think that's the end for Rooney. Zlatan me rxperience and leadership will be great to have on and off the pitch, lost to much experience over the last few seasons. He's in great condition, prem is not a problem for him imo. And his return is fairly good so far despite going through a dry patch that hopefully ended against Swansea with his 2 goals. Still think he will get 20 gls this season.

House hunting is a good sign.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is confident of succeeding at Manchester United despite a difficult start to his career at the club.

M.E.N. Sport understands Mkhitaryan'sprofessionalism has impressed United coaches and the 27-year-old is house-hunting as he attempts to locate a permanent residence away from his temporary quarters at The Lowry Hotel.

Jose Mourinho is also residing under the same roof as Mkhitaryan but there is believed to be no friction between the pair, who also speak away from United's Carrington training complex at the hotel.

Mkhitaryan expects to get a fair chance to show why Mourinho spent £26.3million on him in the summer and is also unconcerned by suggestions he lacks intensity. Mkhitaryan played in a fervent Borussia Dortmund side and in the Champions League, scoring twice against Pep Guardiola's dominant Bayern Munich.

The Armenia international has made only one appearance since his full debut against City on September 10 but Mourinho confirmed Mkhitaryan would play in Thursday's Europa League tie against Feyenoord.

Another indication of Mkhitaryan's progress was the club website received clearance to conduct an interview with him on Monday ahead of a potential first Old Trafford start in over two months.

Mkhitaryan's desire to return to the first-team was highlighted by his decision to train alone at Carrington on a day off last month - a habit dating back to his stint at Shakhtar Donetsk - and a source described him as a 'perfectionist and a hard worker'.

While at Shakhtar, Mkhitaryan lived at the club's idyllic Kirsha Training Centre and, after returning at midnight following a Champions League tie, could not sleep due to adrenaline and decided to train in the gym on his own.

"Obviously he is not happy but he is transforming his frustration in a good way which is; close the mouth and work hard and try to adapt," Mourinho said. "He is trying.

"I told him this (game against Arsenal) was not the game for you, I don't think he needs 10 or 20 minutes from the bench I think you need a good game and you need to either start or if not to come for the second half.

"He needs less pressure and better conditions for him to express his qualities."

Karim El Ahmadi, Terence Kongolo and Eric Botteghin are all missing for tonight's match.
Hopefully it will give us a better chance of sticking a few in.

Beware that ageless Dirky Kuyt fella.

I hear he'd like nottin' better than to dump yers out of Europe! ;).

Feyenoord isn't in the form as they were at the start of the season. I think they will miss El Ahmadi alot tonight.
But I won't expect anything exciting from Feyenoord (on the field). I think Van Bronckhorst will just play very defensive again.
