The Manchester United Thread

You're playing devils advocate or utterly bonkers. Sacrificing today would give up any hope of top 4 for me. Can't see us catching up with Arsenal when they are 8+ points ahead.

Another reason why not loosing to Feyemoird was more important than not loosing today for Utd.

Another potential avenue back into the Champions League.

Don't even want to think about losing another game or dropping points Scouse, lol. Much rather do the quickfire double and put those knobheads under more pressure. Finished 7th last campaign, moved to a new stadium and thought they were going to replicate Leicester this season or something, and win Britains Got Talent on top of it. Good club, but the fans put me right off.

Is rite on all counts but indulge me. :)

In a life or death situation, having to choose one, I'd opt for the cup game just to get some silverware in Mourinho's first season, as I think next year we'll in a lot better position to challenge for the league. Having said that, it's still a difficult decision, as you're going to laugh as will some of the others on here, but I don't think we're completely out of having a say in the title this year. :D

It would take some magnificent run of form to win the title this year and I dreamt of that run last night.

Not even about winning it, just give us a little bit of hope when it's in and around April time, seeing our team gradually mend together and be full of optimism for the following season, that would be nice. :D

Hmm. Great positive is that Schweinsteger is on the bench. Negative is that rooney is on the bench due to personal reasons. I took a gamble on rooney in fantasy football and gave him the captain armband as well :(

Don't know why Schweinstiger is on the bench. As it sounds like he is close to a move away. Happy Mkytarian is in the squad, can see him getting mins today. Would of give Rashford a game out been poor last 2 games imo. As has looked frustrated and not as threatening.

Tbf to Rashford he is playing out-wide, not his main position. Not as good as last season but still a huge player for us and he needs to play upfront sooner rather than later.

SCHWEINSTEIGER on the bench? :D

Bringing back the veteran midfielder into the fold after making him an outcast.... wonder where he got that idea??? lol. :p

great to see bastian back..

Out wide or upfront he's been dissapionting of late. Just think he needs a few games out. Playing far to much and the reliance on him has been huge for someone only playing for the u18s not long ago. Huge talent and will be great for us. Not ready to be leading the line for us yet! Think Schniederlin and Memphis are goners in Jan with Schweinstiger. Blind is being less and less used as a starter now since the emergence of Jones at CB and Darmian at LB, who have both been impressing Mou in training of late.

Don't think he was poor against Arsenal, actually thought he caused their defence a lot of problems with his movement. But he didn't do much with the ball sadly. He has played a lot though lately but meh, Mourinho knows best.

Sky were reporting earlier your main January target is some Swedish centre half. Quoting £25 plus million.

I'm with you that you'd be as well served bumping Alex up and at the very least getting him heavily involved with the first team squad. It's getting no test at all for him and his development at U-23 level.

I think Schweinsteiger will get minutes here and there from now until January, to have him fit and sharp for his new club.

Well this game for me really is win or bust for top 4, 9 points off 4th as it stands.
