The Manchester United Thread

After watching the CL final...Bastien Schweinsteiger is worth 20-30 million of anyones money...Chances of getting him are pretty slim..But this is the sort of player we should be looking at..A calming influence in midfield...And YES I know he missed the vital PEN..But apart from Ashley Cole he was the best player on the pitch.
I agree with you. He's my favourite non-united player. But I don't know why would he leave Germany? and even if he did would fergie/glazers sign him? I would love to see him at United. He and Carrick would rip PL apart!

I am glad Solkjaer didn't take the Villa job. He needs to wait a bit. Would love to see Molde in CL. Anyway if he did take the Villa job, it would break solkjaer just by watching Agbonlahor and Heskey's finishing!

Seriously Fergie.. you can't let another future potential star go, he could be exactly what we need in the future, this makes me think we are going to lose out on a big player again. Gerard Pique springs to mind.
Guiseppe rossi to.

Trio wait on Hazard nod
Eden Hazard will reveal who has won the race for his signature in the next 10 days. Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are battling it out for the Lille playmaker, 21. His agent says terms have been agreed with all three. All that remains is for Belgian ace Hazard — whose buyout clause is around £30million — to pick who he wants to join. Agent John Bico said: “We have reached agreement with all parties. Eden is in a period of reflection. A decision will be taken before the end of next week.”

Looking at it i don't believe Utd will/can offer more than Chelsea and Chelsea more than City but. Looking at the squads at the moment the side he would walk straight into without any hesitation must be Chelsea?

Would walk into the United squad. We can offer 130k 140k.

Not his choice. Pogba decided to listen to his agent, cant make him sign.

I know he likes to play wide left or through the middle and Utd do have these type of players. I am currently looking at squad depth and Chelsea only really have Marin who has not kicked a ball that is half decent down the left side. Utd have Nani, Park and Young who can all play out there.

United only have Young who is similar, and Hazard is a better player.

I think when he is probably our must promising upcoming talent, we should do everything possible to make him stay, although if we get Kagawa and Hazard i won't mind. Although it does feel like we are letting another future star move.

Maybe getting Hazard and Kagawa is the reason's Ferguson doesn't mind losing Pogba. They are both young and both have proven they can play at a top level. They'll be able to provide straight away while Pogba would take a few more years to get to the level we need him at. Plus, I wouldn't want Ferguson to be held to ransom by a 19 year old who has only played 3 games where he was subbed in.
So yeah, I also won't mind losing Pogba if we get Hazard and Kagawa.

Interesting, not sure how much truth there is to it though.

Do everything possible and pay even more or play him even if there are better players and he is not ready to wait for his chances? Just for a 19 year old who hasn't played even 90 mins for first team football. Tbh SAF did all he could but with his agent there was very little we could do. He is for Juve what Mendes is for us.

Why are people saying we're going to get Kagawa and Hazard? I think Shinji is the back-up plan, and if this £13.6M bid is more than a rumour; I'd say Eden is heading to City/Chelsea.

Pretty sure he said he'll stay for another 2/3 years about six months ago...I don't see this 'scare' changing that.

Their main positions are different, Hazard AML, Kagawa an AMC. and we are set to play a more outright 4-2-3-1, which could easily field both players, considering that Kagawa has met SAF personally, its more than a back up plan.

Exactly, I read the translated interview of his. He discussed about position where he will be playing at United if he is signed and said he was very pleased with how he was treated. He is more than a back up plan for Hazard. We are interested in him as much as any player.

Would be dream to sign both and play Hazard-Kagawa-Nani trio behind Rooney with everyone interchanging positions.

Quite clearly this is about Europe, moving back to that shape of 2006-2009, which was brought in for Europe, which is why we are allowing both Berbatov and Owen to go, and use one of the young strikers as emergency 4th forward cover. Willing to bet that more often than not we will field one forward role. i.e Welbeck/Hernandez and then Rooney in the hole. Or one of the three up top and Kagawa etc behind. Lots of options, lots of different ways to attack.
