Which is great but where's the manager to play them?
Take this Swede. You have Bailly who's looked promising. Smalling, who regardless of what I think of him, you personally steadfastly claimed he was the best centre half in England last year. He's only what, 27/28? What should be the prime of his career. Daley Blind who's a very competent centre half. Rojo and Jones. You add Lindelof into the mix and he's going to play at that price. So even if you dump someone else, that's still 4 centre backs at least. You, like myself, really rate the talent of Tuanzebe. He's now 19 going on 20. Where does he get any games? Mourinho's talking a good game about liking this youngster and that. But his words are FAR louder than his actions. Why sign another centre back for more big money when he's not needed and who will just be another boy in the path of someone like Axel?
To a lesser extent, the same with the Monaco DM. If TFM is as highly skilled as we often read on here (and he's always impressed the bride time I've seen him for what that's worth), why would you not want him to be given a good look at being Carricks long term replacement? With maybe Blind in there with him covering the role?
Now there's nottin' wrong in splashing big to build a squad. I just find it really ironic that there's some real talented youth at Utd, along with a string squad if coached right, and yet he's still the archetypal cheque book manager that needs another couple of windows massive spending to have his squad. (All after the Rafa-esq cringeworthy 'youth list' bollocks he opened with.).
