The Manchester United Thread

gonna be a tricky tie tonight, the pitch is a leveller and despite us rotating a lot you would expect us to win.

It's odd. Could be 5-3-1-1 with Mkhi in the #10 behind Ibra. But that'd be very negative?

Jones could be right back, Young up the wing opposite of Mkhi in a regular 4-3-3? But that'd be a little odd too.

Maybe it's just 4-3-3 with Blind holding in with Herrera and Pogba, with Mkhitaryan and Fellaini close to Ibra? But that screams out lack of width to me, especially with Rojo likely to be at full back.

Only thing that makes sense to me at the moment would be Young providing our entire width on the right as a 'wing back', Mkhitaryan operating out on the left, and our back line and Blind covering accordingly.

i would have thought smalling-rojo-jones-young at the back with blind in midfield

Rojo-Smalling-Jones-Blind would make more sense wouldn't it? With Herrera, Fellaini, Pogba midfield, Mhiki and Young on the wings and Zlatan up front. Otherwise who's going to play on the left/right? (can't remember where Mhiki plays)

He's been operating centrally lately, in that little hole, which doesn't help in clearing up any confusion with this lineup.

i agree but young has featured a few times at right back. Also rostov are starting with their second choice keeper so no doubt he will be unstoppable for one night only

Yeah United have gone three at the back to play direct passes and skip as much of the **** pitch as possible
